Somebody want to explain to me how this band is good? I can't stand any of their songs.
Don't say "They're soooo fun" or "They're a joke band, and I love them". I want to hear a legitamite reason why I should like them.

I never really gave them a chance after I listened to one of their songs. :shrugs:

I like HGB because their songs get stuck in your head and they're fun to listen to. They don't take themselves seriously and have a good time as seen in their live shows. Usually their a band you either love or hate.

I honestly don't think Panic was that bad either. They were good for about two weeks, but you can't deny their catchiness.

Most people probably only like them so they can wear their obnoxious merchandise.

there are no reasons why you should like them. you've already written them off anyway, why do you care about other people's reasons?

Because everyone hypes them so much. I just want to know what's so special about them.

i think it's just because they were a bit of fresh air int the "scene" or whatever. it's just one of those things where you either like them, or you don't.

nothing is special about them to you... and they never will be because you have to ask what other people like about them... its just a difference in opinion... just like I'm sure that you like a band that a lot of other people dislike for their reasons... and I know I like bands that other people dislike for whatever reason... if you don't like someone, don't go around trying to get other people to validate why they do like them... just respect that and go on listening to your music... cause thats all it is is music

But from what I've heard so far, everything hurts my ears.
I'm completely open to them. If they completely re-vamp their sound with the full length, I might like them more.

well if you're open to them, then wait for the full-length and attempt to re-form an opinion about them then... other peoples opinions are not going to change your own. And as far as sound for the full-length... I think its a tad more mature from what I've heard... and I mean a tad.

Are you a fucking moron? I had to stop reading to comment on this. Seriously, you're stupid. Do the world a favour and just off yourself now. Do it.
Do you even know what "pop" stands for when it's labeled towards music? It stands for popular, and if you haven't noticed, trends change. Douchebag.

I just know that it's fun to hurt people's feelings. Especially when they write shitty lyrics.

I heard whatever song they had on MTV...hated the fact they even tried to add synth to their music, because it was unneccessary, and then changed the channel

haha, it's calmed down a lot...there was a point where about 3/4 of all new writers were getting murdered by the comments...it was great.
Basically, the drama moved from the Personal Life forum to the Poetry forum...and I followed it for a little...but then it all kind of died out.

EXACTLY. huh-what?
I mean, think of any mainstream pop-punk band, hell think any pop band. THey have HAVE to mature...it's odd for mid-20's people to be singing teen-heartbreak.
I'll use the Backstreet Boys as a reference (I'm making a birthday present for my gf, and she loves them, so I've had a lot of their useless info in my head). Their first album or two were all teen heart-throb kind of songs. Then they came out with Millenium, which especially for a straight boy band, was far more mature. Then they come around with Black and Blue and Never Gone and they again, mature. They actually learned to play instruments for parts. They may still maintain their themes, love/loss, etc but the way they write it changes.
Like, go from "I Want It That Way" to "Shape of my Heart" to "Incomplete". It's a definite line of maturity.
If you want a pop-punk form, think Blink 182. Compare the S/T album to Enema of the State. The musical structure, the lyrics, even the voice changed a great deal.
Think "What's My Age Again" to "Miss You" or something along those lines
So yes, we expect them to "grow" and "try new things", otherwise it would be pointless really
