Bored taking a break from studying for midterms, I was doing a six degrees of wikipedia and came across this tidbit:

"Vinnie Accardi, guitarist of Brand New, died Thursday May 18th in an automobile accident. Punknews.org said the band will not move forward due to the loss of their guitarist and have decided to call it quits."

however, Punknews.org has nothing posted.

The only thing that's strange is that the allotment of time is way too short.

Why would Jesse make a statement to punknews when vinnie would obviously be at the hospital, which assuming jesse would be there too

It's not like he was jumping into an ambulance and as he was leaving a swarm of reporters caught the quote.

That amount of information would have to be protracted over atleast a day or more, not in mere hours. Also, mind that wikipedia has a obvious history of false reporting due to spamming/tagging on their site.
