Maynard said its impossible for A Perfect Circle to exsist in this modern music age, so there was no place for them.. They were basicly just a bunch of muscians making a super group they made their political album and it tanked so they said fuck it .. and Maynard was like oh wait I'm in the greatest band of all time anyways lets go ahead and make the best album of all time in 10,000 days and take our place as music gods...

btw I am a toolhead

One of the loudest bands i have ever heard in my concert goings years.

I wasn't their biggest fan but they had some good songs on Mer de Noms.
When Tool sells nearly 600,000 albums in it's first week A Perfect Circle is quick to fade out, i guess.

I for one am kind of upset. Maynard has great voice, and probably influenced a few of the bands that are frequented on here.

Especially the recent outcropping of screaming singing combo bands.

I really liked 13th step too, they just shouldn't have done emotive.

My fave part is how all the tool-heads talk shit on Cartel and these other bands just out of the blue, and then they get pissed off because people defend their taste in music.

It all works both ways. Some people don't like Tool or APC, simple as that. That is THEIR opinion. Same goes for people who don't like Cartel and Fall Out Boy. Once again, their opinion.

Although I do think it's kinda pointless to go into a thread about a band breaking up and talking shit about them and saying how you never listened to them or whatever. How is that adding to the conversation?

And yes I realize I'm not making things any better, but this doesn't need to turn into a flame war about Cartel or any other band when it's a thread about APC breaking up.

I agree, Tool is great, but it's nice to hear Maynard stray from that Tool sound even if it isn't that far of a stray. Also APC is one of the only famous bands I can think of that actually picked some of it's best songs as singles. That's not to say the other songs weren't great as well.

I agree. I come here cause its the best for news on Rx bandits, steel train, TSOAF, DEP, Head automatica, coheed, 3, it also has some big bands like APC/Tool, Muse,Foo Fighters, NIN, and Radiohead, some indie-scene bands like Of Montreal, Dresdon Dolls, Sufjan Stevens, a few other bands and for some of the RIAA news. Also it's cool to see what some bands I used to listen to (NOFX, Thrice, Saves the Day etc.) are doing.

I can be ridiculously critical of ALOT of bands discussed here, but I'm not going to reply to a panic at the disco or early november post to say they suck, regardless of whether i dislike them or not. That's just kind of adding something negative for no reason.

I understand. There's a lot of bands covered here that I don't really care much for either...but it almost seems loser-ish to actually go into a thread just to say that a band sucks. I dunno maybe it's just me. Wow a Butch Walker line, will I be verbally raped for that one in this thread? ;)

And I get what you mean about seeing what the old bands are up to as well. I used to be obsessed with Offspring and AFI until I burnt myself out on them, so it's cool to see what they're up to on here without actually having to take the effort to go to their different websites to find out.

.KillMoneen.
05/20/06, 02:50 PM
How is it even possible to say either of these bands are bad. Seriously anyone with any music sense would atleast respect these bands. Tool are some of the bes musicians out there. No one can beat the drumming, no one.

This is kinda sad news. But of course, I do get to see two APC members (Josh Freese and Jeordie White) soon for the fourth and fifth time when I see NIN this summer. Yay!

Or there should be one post in every thread mentioning that Will has a better voice than almost any other vocalist mentioned on this site....
