I don't care about peoples personal opinions, agreeing with this is just sick.
He was a fucking human just like everyone else....

True story: my friends little cousin got mad at me because I was having some fun with him. He said he hoped I died that night so he could go and piss on my grave. That night he wet the bed. He took it as a sign from God to not fuck with me.

I mean his integrity as an artist. e's losing all of his credibility through the mass-marketing of everything attached to his name.. As of now. There was a buffer period where he was given praise and that's still going on... Underneath the marketing.. Soon, he will be like the Beatles, an old artist who will eventually mean nothing but a market.

i was talking about his percieved integrity as a human being. hardly anyone wanted to be associated with him between 2001 and 2008. after he died he was widely acknowledged as "one of the greatest artists of his generation." when he mistakenly 'accepted' an award for that same thing at the vmas around 2000, everyone laughed at him for being 'stupid enough' to consider himself that great.
There was a buffer period where he was given praise and that's still going on... Underneath the marketing..
it's been said before, but i'll say it again: of course right after a famous musician dies, there'll be
(a) many insanely positive tributes in his honor
(b) assholes who try to profit off of it
don't let the bad overwhelm the good. you sound really skeptical of modern marketing...it's the world we live in, man.
Soon, he will be like the Beatles, an old artist who will eventually mean nothing but a market
that's not fair at all. the beatles still mean a lot of things to a lot of people. look at the success of the remastered albums. they didn't sell as many as they did because of new buyers who were like OMGTHEBEATLESROCKBANDSAWESOMEINEEDT HESEALLMOMBUYTHEM!! they sold as many as they did because the beatles made a lasting impact on thier listeners back in the day and newer generations pick up on that immediately when they listen to the beatles' music.
its also unfair of you to use time in general as a way of degrading an artist's value...that would mean there are no lasting artists in mass media.

He hasn't been anything but a market for years. Dying helped his credibility probably more than his tour would have.

Fair enough. I do have a tendency to be cynical when it comes to things like that. However, I still feel they're cashing in a little early.

Other children- Parents could of manipulated them to say such things (children are not hard to manipulate)
While the children in the bed thing is weird, and the settling out of court is shady, you can't really say that he's a molester. It was speculation, not fact to whether he was a molester. There are no photos, no videos, nothing solid other then hearsay to connect to him to anything like that. Honestly, this debate can last forever.

Well, the writing in the movie was weak. It was put together with terrible adhesiveness. But, if you get a bunch of so-and-so's to sing the Beatles songs in between it, it's suddenly of value? It's basically my respect for the Beatles is taking a blow instead of the people who wrote and starred in it.
