of all the shit he fucked with when he put the originals on dvd, this is what bothered me the most.

should be old anakin in there. not young one.

the fact is, anakin didnt die when he was young... he was old when he actually died, so it should be the old one. no reason for the change.

awesome. i think they're out in september.

i don't like most of the additions in the re-relase ones. greedo shooting first was bullshit. the jabba scene in new hope was unnecessary. and i've already expressed my feelings about hayden at the end of jedi.

i'm pretty excited about the originals coming out.

Like, sure he DIED when he was old, but he was closest to the force when he was younger.

but it's luke seeing him. luke only saw him as the older version right before he died.

to me, that's the equivalent of putting ewan in there as obi wan. just stupid.

Personally, I think the force would preserve them in the way they were when they were closest to the force, not how Luke would remember them, hence Yoda and Obi-Wan being older, and Anakin being younger. I think(and I hope!) that's what Lucas was going for, anyway.

you know what? Anakin DID die when he was young...Anakin died becuase Darth Vader took him over. So if you think about it...the young Anakin is what it should be.

I like the new Anakin.

Think about how much of Anakin's body was lost on Mustafar. He lost most of his force abilities. Remember that pitiful little outburst when he found out padme did? Just a shadow of his former abilities (the novelization specifically states this).

A large part of him became one with the force that day.

Showing the younger Anakin in ROTJ adds even more distinction between light side anakin and dark side vader. It makes it clearer that he returned to the light and that luke redeemed him. It adds to the scene.

... Greedo shooting first, however, makes me want to throw babies down wells.

Well, following that logic, episodes 1+2 just shouldn't have been made. I'm sure they cost a lot of money...and no one really liked them. It just made ep. 3 look like a decent film.

More importantly, how the hell is harrison ford going to play indiana jones? He's like 60.

so the dvd set of iv-vi that i bought last year are the digitally remastered whatevers?

i really had no idea since i had never seen them in their entirity before buying the set.
