So my birthday is coming up in June and I think I want to ask for a 360. I remember when they first came out there was a lot of problems with them.. Have they got them all worked out? Do you think It's worth having my parents spend $400 on it? I knbow most everyone here likes Wii but from whati've seen of it I think I would rather have a 360.
Any help would be appreciated..
Thanks.

Go ahead and get a 360. Technically it would be best to wait for a price drop in the fall, but the 360 is a great system and a lot better to invest in than something like the PS3.

There won't be a price drop in the fall.
I bought my 360 in March and haven't had a single problem with it. Theres still a limited amount of good games (Fight Night, Oblivion, GRAW) but lots on the way.

Yeah there will be. Either late fall or early winter. How else are they going to compete with the price of the Wii?

I've had my 360 since launch and have not had a single problem. I love it. If you are even considering getting one, I say go for it. You won't be disappointed.

Are you kidding me? Better system? Maybe to you.
And yeah, it has a ton more games, because it's been out for a year. Too bad they're all similar.
And Wii has online anywhere. And it's free.

Xbox Live Silver is free. For all we know, Nintendo may do they same thing (offer a free online service, as well as one that requires a fee for online play)

Yeah, but if you want it will the full capabilities, it costs a monthly fee.
Nintendo's online system is free, no matter what. They've confirmed it.

What do you mean Wii will have online anywhere? I've haven't heard anything about Nintendo doing an "Anywhere" service (like MS is doing with "Live Anywhere")

Not much is known about Live anywhere. It's where the 360 connects to computers/cell phones right? Wii doesn't have a feature like that. I'm glad, because that's taking gaming a step too far.
At least it wirelessly connects to the DS. As long as everything on the Wii is free, I'm happy. I'm really short on money.

The virtual console games aren't free are they?? (I'm not trying to start an argument, I just don't know. If they are, then I'm definitely getting a Wii)

that's still a good deal. Is it true they're coming out with a new duck hunt game that uses a "Wii'fied" (for lack of a better word) controller? That would kick ass.

I read in an interview on ign that said this was just a demo to display the Wiimote gun add-on. I hope I'm wrong but I wouldnt get my hopes up too much about a full duckhunt game coming out.

There's speculation that it's coming bundled with the actual system.

This is from an interview on Wii sports:
IGN Wii: Was your team also involved with the Duck Hunt-like shooter shown at your E3 2006 booth?
Katsuya Eguchi: Yes.
IGN Wii: Is that also considered part of the Wii Sports category or is it something separate?
That was created to show the visitors on the E3 show floor how the pointer works. And whether or not that it'll actually become a product on its own is still to be decided.
In retrospect though I guess I was just mistaken and this is a completely different shooter designed as part of Wii sports, completely unrelated to the actual Duckhunt game.

I don't know. I'm almost positive that it's a confirmed game.
It won't be a complete, $50 game, but it will definately be available to consumers as a non-demo.

Thats cool. I think duckhunt would work much better like that rather than as a full game so it should be for the best.

they need to compete with PS3, not Wii. As it stands now, Sony is still top dog and they are the ones everyone is going after.

True, people are going to buy PS3 no matter what. Microsoft would have to drop the price drastically to sway anyone to get a 360.

Nah, that's not what I meant. Sony is making a huge mistake with the price of their system. I think they're going to have an even worse launch than 360. They'll still sell more systems than the Wii and 360, but not until they have a significant price drop.

Theres only going to be 1 million on launch day and I guarantee theyll be gone. 1 million systems at a price of at least $500 equals a half billion dollar launch day. That's not really good though is it.

And a fourth of those will be on e-bay the next day for double the price.

Of course but Sony doesnt care. When you combine that with games and accessories being sold, sales will probably top $1 billion on launch day.

I'd love to play that but my PS2 is being a bitch. I'm getting the infamous disc read error and I opened the thing up and theres no dust or anything but I blew it with air and I'm still getting the same message.
