I'm hoping it will be at least decent, although I do agree with jeremypeele.

Why do they feel the need to continuously make the same shit over and over? Hello, Halloween, Kruger?

people see these movies, and they pay money to see them, more money than it costs to make the movie
this is called making a profit

I haven't given a shit about this series since the third one, since then it's been rehashes of the same tired plot over and over again.

you forgot the most important part. and big profit results in studios deciding that it would be in their best interest to create more and more sequels, because that means more and more moneys.

Me being the gorehound I am means I watch them simply for the torture scenes, though the first 3 did hold me interest storywise as well.

the last movie was made for just under 11 million and made over 130 million. expect many more of these.

I actually like these movies. It's a tradition for me and my friends to go see them.
They aren't amazing films. But they're good horror movies, better than a lot of series, like Nightmare on Elm Street and Friday the 13th.

..................Really? I know Freddy got ridiculous as it wore on, but I still love the originals and Saw comes nowhere near Nightmare IMO. Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic.

To me, classic does not equal good. Those movies are laughable, not scary in any way, really. They're just funny. The Saw movies aren't really at that point, and they may never be, not the extent that Freddy is. I mean, come on, Nightmare 3, the swimming pool gets so hot, the water bursts into flames? That's retarded. Freddy's final words before he explodes for ten minutes straight? "*sigh* Kids these days." That's not scary. Classic, sure. But classic doesn't mean scarier, nor does it mean better. A lot of people feel that way, but I never have.

I'm excited for the Nightmare reboot. They look like they're going to do everything I wanted the originals to do (like making Freddy real, and human; rather than going for some Michael Myers "he's made of pure evil! BOOGA BOOGA BOOGA!" bullshit) and hey, Jackie Earl Haley will make a great Freddy.

for as much shit as these movies seem to get...I actually enjoy them for the most part. they are nothing original anymore but to me they are entertaining.

They are seriously at #6? I liked the first two, didn't like the 3rd so I haven't really payed attention since.
