Praise jesus, a release date at least! Time to pencil this one in on my release date list.

That being said, that is a bit longer than I would have expected...damn.

yeah, i wasn't too fond of those demos that they had. Maybe the final thing will be a lot better. hopefully. There are so many more i am looking forward to from T&N/Solid State..... UO, MWY, Norma Jean, Showbread and The Chariot all will have new releases before Oct. I am anticpating all of those much more than DP.

anticipating the chariot's new cd?

does that even make sense

just throw some musical instruments at the wall near you and you could maybe get a taste for what the new cd might sound like

so pretty much , the demos were just that, DEMOS (get over it already). .. .the final master of Vices sounds AMAZING .. this cd will be the best cd to be released on T&N in years (if not, EVER) ,, and it's well worth the wait, ... they just decided to push back the release date because damn toothandnail never promotes their artists and their new cds. - and this cd deserves a lot more promotion than what t&n can offer.

and ramblinger (http://www.absolutepunk.net/member.php?u=37379) , i hope you hate their new album so they can start losing shitty fans like you.

...i said it.

...i said it.

hahahahaha... oh wow, yeah you "said it". there's so much wrong with what you said i don't even know where to start.

1. the demos were crap.
2. tooth n nail/solid state is one of the biggest "indie" labels around, and has some of the BEST marketing for their bands. i don't know if you've seen their rosters or not, but they're huge. they've always been a forerunner in this "scene".
3. the "best cd to be released...EVER", you need to look at the T&N back catalog my friend. i wish that you could be partially right, because i used to be a big fan of DP, but well... you just don't know what you're talking about.
4. i hope i hate the new cd as much as you want me to. that way DP will lose fans like me, and be left with the type of quality fans like yourself. better yet, maybe everyone like you will flock to them.

watch out, penfold, i just used my opinion. if you're not careful, i may just do it again... and again after that! thanks for the laugh. next time you type some words on the screen, make sure they make sense when you put them side by side.

the demos were crap.

their demos were indeed NOT crap. you have to realize that those were just demos, which were recorded quite quickly in respect to how songs are recorded in the studio for the real album. so, i think you should keep an open mind and not base your opinion off of those demos. it'll be a year from when those demos were recorded to when the album is released, so, there was a lot of time for change.

this late of a release date means they are giving all that time to the other bands for marketing.

T&N does a great job of promoting their bands online. And that is some of the best promo now-a-days. Just cuz they don't have mtv commercials for their artist doesn't mean they don't promote well for them well.

it makes sense to me. i guess it's just your musical preference. i really am looking forward to Josh Scoggin's lyrics on that Chariot album.

ramblinger, im not trying to get involved, but if you really REALLY look at T&N, they really don't use their marketing that well.

yes, their bands are big, but it's because of their automatic christian fanbase and the way their CDs hit the christian bookstores. alot of christian kids just buy whatever comes out on T&N no matter what and that rules for T&N, but doesn't mean they are using their marketing well.

do you see T&N ads on TV like victory? nope. why not? cause they don't care that much. they are in magazines and stuff, but what label isn't? online ads, yeah, but i see online ads from almost every label in the world. online ads are like 150 bucks a month. are you trying to tell me that T&N is doing a great job for using alot of online ads? sure, it helps, but they can do alot more and that's what penfold is saying.

for a label their size, they are doing a horrific job of marketing and promoting and that's a fact.

if you actually were friends with bands that were/are on T&N you'd have a different opinion i guess.

anyways, no need to laugh at penfold because in all reality, he's right for the most part.

ps. - there are already people in the music industry saying that this new DP album is the best cd T&N has ever released.

hahah ... Ramblinger ... wow!. let me go down the list you provided for me to better educate me and clarify a few things -- (before i begin, let me jsut say this: i am not as ignorant as you think i am; i am actually friends with a couple members of DP ... so when i speak of the new album, that means i've actually heard it and i'm trying to dissolve any ignorant remarks like yours and clear up any misunderstandings)

1) "the demos were crap. i hope they scrapped every single one of those awful demos they posted. those were just sad." --- dude,, that's your opinion and i respect that,, but if you even knew how good the final versions turned out, you'd turn tail and run.

2) you do happen to be rigth about t&n being one of the biggest "indie labels there is... but buddy, you are so terribly wrong about them promoting and supporting thier bands,., i know of (personally i mean) quite a few bands that have at one point been on t&n and it would take me all day to tell you all the horror stories that happen on that label ,, so many bands jsut fall through the cracks of their roster because t&n WILL NOT promote liek they should. trust me, ( - spitfire, twothirtyeight, all wound up, side walk slam, spoken, holland, acetroubleshooter, element 101, embodyment, watashi wa and the dingess --- and then they may spend a couple thousand dollars on bands like furtherseemsforever, underoath and mxpx to promote thier new albums.. ) -- SUCKS.. you have to agree dude, ,you dont even know about this,, trust me. - i actually knew of personally many of the bands i jsut mentioned and if they could tell you the sorry job t&n does promoting thier bands, you would believe me .., (o and by the way,, why do you think DP just pushed their album release date back? .. huh? ... yup, you may 'of guessed it... t&n didnt promote shit for this album ,, it's been known for months that this album would come out in june (the same time as the new underoath album) but have you seen one flyer, banner, ecard, post, etc about it,, PROBABLY NOT. .so i jsut made a point and you cant say shit cuase you knwo i'm right.

3) "i dont know what i'm talking about" -- well of the 2 of us.. who's heard the new tunes.. ye that's what i thought,, Shut Up! .haha ,. -- dude , it's merely my opinion that this cd is that good,., guess you'll have to wait and see for yourself.

4) and to clear this up .. I AM NOT A FAN OF DP. .i'm friends with them,, (big difference bud) .. as you notice, i back them up when losers like you trash them cause you're ignorant.

in conclusion, let me quote a huge ass of a person: "next time you type some words on the screen, make sure they make sense when you put them side by side." --- take your own advise and leave industry talk alone. you just embarass yourself. haha.

in all of that you made a couple good points with some of the bands such as embodyment, 238, discover america, etc. i'm not new to the roster. i've hung out with some of the bands, but don't feel like name dropping. i've heard the horror stories from some of their biggest acts. bottom line? the bands STILL sign to their label because, more times than not, T&N do a good job. maybe not everytime... but what label does?

you can take your opinion, and base it on what you've heard. seeing as how, you're elite and prestigous enough to hear the new cd already (not really impressed). like you, i will base my opinion on the most recent material i've heard... the crappy demos. there's no tail tucking in that statement. those demos, compared to previous material... were crap. even their previous demos for other albums or their ep that was up on MP3.com back in the day.

since you're "friends" with them, you can tell them there's a "huge ass of a person", pulling for them and their new album. i want it to be good. i want to like it. i want them to get alot of recognition. i just don't see that happening with what i've heard so far.

so let's keep our fingers crossed and hope that tooth n nail doesn't delay the release date again, with the intention of making a better attempt at promoting them. wait... that actually makes sense, a label is going to push back a release date in order to have a better promotional campaign. man, what a sorry label.

the label didnt decide that, ,DP's new management decided since there was absolutely NO promotion done for the album thus far, they needed till October (or at the time, possibly November) to properly promote the album. --- but you make some good educated points and i respect that,, and by the way ,, i really do hope you like the new cd cause it will completely make up for (in your opinion) the crappy demos., haha,

halloween is best for all parties involved.
it does suck to have to wait a couple of extra months, but to make up for it, we'll be on the road more than DP has in a long time to promote. we'll be playing tons of new songs...this isn't the same band that wrote "New Medicines." We'll still play some old songs, but expect a lot of fun new ones.
there are definitely a lot of good toothandnail albums coming out before ours, but i guarantee ours is worth the wait.

I've heard the new album - and it's pretty freakin good.

We decided to push the release date back to be able to set this record up properly. Getting a record setup is a huge headache, and we didn't want to rush into it before everything was ready. We still have a video to shoot, artwork to complete, and hopefully a single to push to radio.

We may have made a bad move to post the demo clips. We had been hiding away for so long that we wanted to give you guys something to hear - so you knew we were busy, and preparing for this record. We think those demos pretty much sucked balls, but oh well, they were demos -- we thought everyone was going to understand what "demos" meant. Don't let that bear any weight on what this new album is gonna sound like. It's a good freakin record. We're very proud of it.

Halloween is far away, but we want to get back out on the road, and get you guys stoked on our live show again - build some buzz and anticipation. Plus Halloween is way more evil than any summer date could be.

FYI, we will be doing a short headline tour with Showbread during July. We will be posting dates soon. It'll cover most of the East half of the country. We'll be out to the West coast soon, though.

Keep checking Our MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/deadpoetic) and Our Website (http://www.deadpoetic.com) for updates about the tour. We cannot wait to get back out there and see you all, and more importantly - play these new songs for you.

So quit bitchin' and start rockin'. This is gonna be a fun summer!
