usually i stay away from nay-saying... but this band brings very little to the table... way off the mark of trying to "save rock n' roll".... to say the very least.
who agrees with me?

they're peforming on Fuse right now. They just played a Box Car Racer song for some reason, it was There Is.

True; That was the same with Juturna, but since it was so hyped people didn't give it a correct/normal rating/opinion.

THIS ISN'T LIVE! It's just the track from the album playing over live footage of Tom still sucking at singing live.

I personally think it is incredibly lame that the music dubbed over. they could of at least tried to make it not obvious...

agreed.
I'm not saying they are a bad band. And I ususally love everything Tom does. But for some reason, everytime I see the video, or video of them live... it just seems like he is trying to hard.

My local radio station said they got word that Mark, Tom, and Travis are going to have a meeting together in the near future to discuss their differences. I hope it's true because I fucking miss Blink.

man I dont see why people dont like them, but whatever
I looooove every song on their cd
so good
i'm a fan of this band but man, that video was a dissapointment. i'm pretty sure all the instruments are live cause they have the gear to replicate tones off the album, but having the vocal track straight off the album played over the music is rediculous. maybe i could somewhat accept a new vocal track recorded all in one take in some studio then corrected, but this is stupid. i think the album is great but it's shitty that tom can't sing very well live. i think it really takes away from their credibility as a legit band.

Since Blink recorded their S/T album, Tom just kind of stopped trying to sing well live. He just sounds like he is doing a bad impression of himself

i don't think they'd take just the vocal track. and besides, i heard bells in the video, and no one was playing them.

i dunno if its TOTALLY dubbed, cause atom was doing some fills and stuff, near the end, that arent on the album... but the vocals just sounded TOO perfect... and if anything, i doubt he lip synched live... they may have just put the album recording over his voice for video pruposes... which is still fucking gay... Great album though... too bad mtv's gay and put a vocal track over his voice... they need to do that shit to Panic! That bitch can't hit the notes he does on the album for shit.

ummmm...ok i will tomorrow. Thanks for the tip.

i've seen them live and tom on a good night sounds great. but other nights it aint that good. he never lipsyncs live, they just put the track in for the video. i still would have preferred the real deal. you would think that for a show they were filming he would prepare in advance and make sure his voice sounds the best it can.

its just as easy to auto tune a track of vocals recorded live as any other vocal track
he could also be running his vocals through an auto tune rack and it auto tunes as he sings like linkin park

i didn't even watch the fuse performances. the only song that was actually tom singing live was "there is" and he sounded awful. i like the album, but i was disappointed with fuse's 7th ave drop thing. also, i hate anything with that tool Steven. that guy is such a joke.
we recently had the privilege of playing with angels and airwaves in san diego a few weeks back. yes, they do play to ambient tracks, bells, synth noises, maybe some guitar over-dubs to add body and such, but as does every big rock band out now a days. i’m darn near positive everything is live though, they run through TONS of computers and triggers to duplicate EXACT tones so they sound dead on with their record. i believe tom runs through some computer delays, reverbs, maybe pitch correction things(?) live and junk, who knows. all i know is he was way on point, he would do things different from the recording and it would sound extremely on pitch wise and such, i don’t think he should be bagged on, he’s recreating a near perfect performance. not a bad word to say about them, even if they aren’t your cup of tea they are a “legit” band, play their music extremely close to perfect. and not to mention they were some of the nicest dudes we’ve ever played with. keep in mind it is possible that the video might not be matched up perfectly, and there could be delays, or who knows, maybe he does use vocals tracks for television performances, i wasn’t there for the taping so I obviously can’t say for certain. all i know is when playing with them they did great and were actually playing. i believe that’s all, that got way to long, haha… have a beautiful day!

if anyone saw them on letterman...that was live, and wasn't that bad. i would have liked to have heard them sound like that one this mtv video (or fuse if anyone saw that). but i knew instantly it wasn't all live. but i'm confused just how much was "dubbed" cause all the drumming was live, but the vocals were WAY too good to be live.
but it is possible to pitch correct vocals live, it causes a slight tenth of a second delay that apparently is undetectable if you're watching them, or so i've been told. so maaaybe that's the case for this mtv and fuse video...but i doubt.
as for bells and whistles, someone earlier explained....they're playing to a metronome or a click track that's drummers ear piece monitors (if not all of theirs)...tre cool from green day uses it on "boulevard of broken dreams" he just wears headphones...it makes them line up perfectly with the music playing along with them, which i think is cool for a band to do live...JUST SING NORMAL TOM ! i'm sure he doesn't lip sync live, anyone can see that on youtube.com if you search for them, so i don't know why they did this. sorry i wrote a book. i just was really looking foward to hearing them play more songs, instead i got to watch them play to what sounded like the cd.

still unimpressed.
compared to blink s/t it actually seems retrograde.
the lyrics may not be immature etc. or whatev - but they sure aren't very deep either.
i heart tom - but i dunno about this.

After seeing them live last weekend it appeared to me that gbt is pretty much right on. They play live but to a backing track with the synth parts, etc. Tom was almost definitely using an autotune processor (and major reverb) on his voice but I'm pretty sure it was live. I'd kind of prefer they add a fifth member to do live keyboards but either way they are a hell of a lot better live than blink was.
