I can't figure out why all four of these bands have a pretty solid following. What are they doing different? Each of these bands are apeing the shit out of so many others its ridiculous. I'm not saying most bands that I listen to are totally unique, but I get the feeling these cats aren't even trying... Let me know what you think.

Yeah, all those bands suck, but who are HtB "apeing" the shit out of?

Their music makes me smile... and I just like how it sounds.

Job For A Cowboy has some pretty gnarley drum work but that is about it, that is another band I really can't get into.

Yeah I have to agree with that. Chiodos can be added to that list. I am not pretentious by any means but these bands seem to be to recycled. I have tried and tried to get into it, but I'm super big on guitars. The more technical the guitars are the better, the more blast beat drumming I love.. I LOVE vocals, but clean vocals and metal never sound right (to me at least) .. I'm huge on lyrics as well.

So basically, The Dillinger Escape Plan is the best band ever.

fear before put on a good live show, they are kind of cocky and have a tongue n cheek reaction towards the crowd so it was funny, but maybe it was only good because when i saw them the fall of troy, BEAR VS SHARK and since by man played before them, and those 3 bands made the place go nuts, but bear vs shark is my favorite band so i was probably still in a good mood from their set when fear before came on.





oh and that escape the fate ep came out today, and it says for fans of underoath, senses fail, the used, taking back sunday.... i thought that was funny, but they are just another from first to last cause thats all any new band tries to be like.

Norma Jean- O god isnt anything special, okay breakdowns. Bless a great cd.
The Chariot- I need another full length. I am into that noisecore stuff like Spitfire so, the chariot is another band that i like.
Horse the Band- very different. Yeah i like a couple songs
Spitfire- They are good, i am liking the new cd. Life and Limb is a great song.
Underoath- PreTCOT is good. TCOT is okay, and the new stuff is ehhh
Fear Before the March of Flames- very good. their lyrics are very insane somethings and strange which is always good.

I want to clarify what i said before because it sounded harsh (though, the chariot is pretty generic). When I see the word noise being used in a discussion about music, I think of music that's experimental or has roots in No-Wave. The Chariot doesn't. They're just metalcore. The feedback is kind of cool, but it's not exactly experimental or anything.

-The Chariot don't really do it for me. Josh's vocals and lyrics are terrible now and the music is mundane at best.
-Norma Jean sucks now that Josh left.
-Hawthorne Heights needs to be kicked down a set of stairs. Most annoying lead singer I've ever seen.
-Underoath are nothing since Dallas left. For such a hyped band they can't play live worth a shit. The drummer/singer can't do both live, always goes off time.
-My Chemical Romance just sucks, enough said.
- Job For A Cowboy are pretty good, I really dig the vocals and drumming.
