The Aquabats (http://www.theaquabats.com) would like to welcome their brand new guitarist, Eagle "Bones" Falconhawk, to their lineup. Additionally, the band will be re-releaing 2005's Charge!! in the form of a double-disc CD/DVD combo. The CD itself has been re-mastered and will contain three brand new tracks, and the DVD will feature all sorts of exclusive, behind-the-scenes material. The cover art for the re-release can be found in the replies, as well as the official press release from the band can be found below:
Speaking of totally AWESOME. The Aquabats would like to formally introduce a new member of the team! Meet him! He is EAGLE "BONES" FALCONHAWK!! We call him 'BONES' for short. He is the most amazing guitar super hero that has ever joined up with the most amazing band of rock 'n' roll superheroes ever..... ever!! It appears that just before May, Chainsaw, the prince of Karate, hurt himself badly in what some are calling a 'wood-shop' accident. Almost, severing his hand completely, Chainsaw may be on the DL for quite some time. "BONES" however is ready and posed for action as the newest member of the world's greatest chubby rockers of all time. "I am very pleased with the outcome of events so far" says Eagle "Bones", " I just hope I can be a good addition to this already humongous juggernaut of freshness." Welcome, Bones. Welcome.

Speaking of freshness, the special One-Year Anniversary edition of "CHARGE!!" is currently being pressed and should be available along the east coast dates of the tour. This double-disc CD/DVD combo includes lots of amazing things. The CD its self has been re-mastered and includes three bonus tracks: "Cheeseburger Politics", "Video Nite", and "Hi-Five City", all of which were recorded during the original CHARGE!! sessions. The DVD consists of the "Fashion Zombies!" video , "Fashion Zombies Commentary" (with The MC Bat Commander, Crash, Jimmy The Robot, Ricky Fitness and Bob), a Behind-the-Scenes look at the "Fashion Zombies" video shoot filmed by The Robot, "What About Charge?!?" a 45-minute documentary of the band dissecting the record track-by-track, "Charge!! Photoshoot" - a 10 minute peek at the photoshoot for the album cover, a CHARGE!! Trading Card Gallery, a teaser trailer for the elusive "Season 12", and maybe even more...? The cover art features a painting by super artist Brandon Bird. Oh, and here's what it looks like:

I don't think there's much to understand, man. Obviously they felt the sound could be improved, and it's just an added bonus alongside 3 new tracks.

the fact that they are re-releasing an album a year after it came out is pure genius.... I've been down with these dudes since 95, and it keeps getting better and better... Join the aquacadets, I'm #166....

peace, and if you don't like the band, why the hell did you bother to read the how post, and bother to reply

Don't get me wrong, I like the Aquabats (even though I do wish they were still as heavy on the horsn as they used to be...) but I just think that's kind of weird for them to remaster it...I mean, they want it to sound better...but how much of a budget could they really draw for a remaster that they wouldn't be able to draw in the initial release...it's not like FOB where they released TTTYG really under the radar and then they blow up on TRL and everyone's buying it...I understand that.

I just don't see lots of people re-purchasing this album for three bonus tracks and a DVD. And without another new album, I don't see how they would get themselves out to more people (even though they've been around a long time and have VERY loyal fans)...maybe I guess their fans might purchase the re-release I guess.

Are the horns even around anymore? Im used to seeing these guys like 8 deep and suddenly on Charge! they are only 5. Im not too up to date on the history of the band (Charge was the first album I bought from then, Ive since bought more) so can someone fill be in?

Basically, they've been gradually losing horn players over the years, and are down to one sax/keyboard player, I believe (Jimmy the Robot).

All of their newer songs, including Charge!! in it's entirety, are without horns. However, Jimmy the Robot plays sax during the old songs with horns when they play live, but his main role in the band now is keys.
