According to HitsDailyDouble.com (www.hitsdailydouble.com), Angels And Airwaves (www.angelsandairwaves.com)' debut album, We Don't Need To Whisper, is expected to scan between 135-145k copies in it's first week. Read below for more details.
Angels On The Airwaves: Angels & Airwaves, the new band formed by blink-182’s Tom DeLonge, looks like a Schur thing. We Don’t Need To Whisper, the first release for former Geffen President Jordan Schur’s Suretone Records label, is already exceeding sales expectations after its release last Tuesday, with forecasts between 135-145k, which would make it a strong candidate for a Top 5 debut on next week’s chart. The critically acclaimed album has profited from a strong set-up as its first single, “The Adventure,” scores strong rotations at MTV, MTV2 (where it entered the “Elite Eight”) and Fuse, while residing in the Top 5 at Modern Rock radio. A tour with Taking Back Sunday is slated for late June.

The album is kind of like floating on a marshmallow cloud that's rising up to heaven. Then when you're there you wanna play billiards, but God's like "no man there are no billiard in heaven" and you're all "man, heaven sucks."

Just an observation: It's so weird how a group of peoples' opinions on an album can collectively change in a matter of days - Last week everyone was saying how "so-so" the album was and how much they wish Tom would revive Blink 182 and this week everyone is expressing how much they love it. In addition to the sudden change of opinion on the album, there also seems to be a sudden change of opinion on Tom. In the last AVA thread I posted, everyone was bashing Tom by calling him an "ego-maniac" and saying things like "He's lost his mind", "Tom is a complete nutjob now", while in this thread the one person that made a negative comment about Tom is the minority and the one who was singled out... I'm curious to see what next week's consensus is.
I love it. I don't like how Tom is acting though, but the album is awesome. Hope they come to Europe again and maybe Spain too, as Blink never came here.

People usually only reply to posts to which they agree with; That, or those they severely disagree with. I guess that leaves alot of room open, though.

I love AvA. The cd is so well written I honestly believe it's a piece of art and a modern day recording marvel. I do understand why people may say that the cd get's repetitive. For me... It doesn't do that at all but I do understand where people are coming from. I don't view the cd as repetitive. I view it as a fluid adventure (I thank you)... I don't think Tom is crazy either! He is just confident in his album. I'm recording my own cd right now and I find myself saying the same things. It's not an ego and it's not for record sales. He is truley is excited about doing something new, original, and good. Also, I like his voice against the music. I think it sounds different and better than anything else out there as far as an overall sound goes. Also, people who criticize his lyrics... I think the lyrics are great as well. The message and the symbolism is way better than 99 percent of the indie bands I see on this site. People just want to hate this album because it's Tom. It was cool to hate Tom when he was in Blink and people want to hate him now as well. But, what happened? The album came out and everyone's opinions are starting to change. We Don't Need to Whisper is an exceptional CD
- Also... I've seen them live 5 times! Tom has been sick recently and his voice hasn't been as good. I do admit he is not a strong live singer but he is becoming more consistent. They put on an amazing show!

I've never commented on Tom in any AVA discussions I've tried to talk more about the music and I know the more I've listened to the album the more I like it so it has went from a so-so album to a great album for me.

It doesn't matter whether it is or isn't the same people posting in every thread. Usually 30 people, who all generally feel the same way about something, represent what most people as a whole think. Just like when companies take polls/surveys for their products they don't ask the entire population to take part in the poll, they simply ask a large group of people to represent a whole.
Whether these 30 users are different than the users in the other threads or not is completely irrelevant to the previous consensus that was reached.

sorry but this cd is a steaming pile of shit in my opinion. ive listened to it a few times....its absolutely terrible one of the worst cds i have heard in some time. total borefest and tom delonge is one of the worst lyricists ever.....and he cant sing so that doesnt help either.
He was kidding with half the things he said. This album is fucking amazing. They're so intense live. You really have to see them. This album fucking rocks. I love Blink, but I like Angels and Airwaves just as much. Blink, despite what many say, could never have done this. I'm letting of Blink and hoping for a sort of reunion some day. Right now, I wanna see Blink as seperate artists beacuse I think that Mark and Tom could both do better that way. They both became leaders in Blink and it's obvious that each has a different plan. This album deserves more praise. Oh, wow, there I said it.

This album is the most average thing i have ever heard. I cannot believe that this was hyped to be fantastic and now i am given 10 tracks of music that makes me go err... I can't see my opinion changing either. I actually got angry when i listened to this album cos i had been promised something awesome and got delivered a bland album. I was so friggin pissed off at Tom for all the promises and the big let down. Its like being promised a motorbike for christmas and then finding out what you really get is a 2 year olds drawing of a motorbike.
i play it over and over and over again too.

My thoughts exactly. I'm really enjoying the album so far. I don't see why a bunch of people are dissing tom. You have to admire his ambition for AVA.
This CD is not anything groundbreaking, but guess what everything has been done before. At least it's not another screamo record, or a fuckin record that sounds like Fall Out Boy. I love this cd. They are a great live band.
