so, apparently our beloved government has put music to work at Guantanamo Bay. while that's not necessarily surprising, but it's thought provoking at least.

A lot of the crap produced in the Top 40 and MC music over here would make me talk.

Put country on for an hour and I would be in tears ratting out whomever you asked me to

Play them some brokeNCYDE and within minutes we will know the location of Osama Bin Laden and his minions and maybe Elvis Presley.
Those damn terrorists, you never know what will happen next.

Nickelback have to be regulars then...

Barney theme song and Sesame Street tunes? Wow. My 8 year olds self would've like this very much. What I suspect is that most of these detainees don't even speak English so playing these songs would just be like loud noises to them.

Nickelback should be locked up in G-Bay for audible terrorism

And then made to listen to their own music as torture.

You have to admit, if you were tied down, forced to listen to your favorite band/song, you'd go insane. Don't believe me? Listen to the same song of your choice for 24 hours straight.

Yeah I remember learning about how they would crank up the volume crazy loud to torture people. Didn't realize artists were complaining that their music was being used, though.

my neighbors do this. every time they go the back bath room. they crank the stereo like they're deaf.
i keep hoping the stereo will drop in the shower and end it.

being forced to listen to let the bodies hit the floor? that's sickening. jokes aside though, i can see why artists would be pissed that their expressions of emotion and art are being used as torture.

Is it 2006 again on AP? Seriously, this was brought up years ago.

This is kinda similar to what they did in Waco, Texas when ATF sieged and raided the Branch Davidians and David Koresh.
At night, they put up spotlights and blasted music to keep them awake.
Not to mention, that this has been done in a majority of the 20th/21st century wars as 'psychological warfare'.

I feel like it could be any song, so long as it was repeated. Imagine even your favorite song on repeat all day. It'd get to you after a bit. Find an irritating song, I imagine it'd be worse.
