I've enjoyed all of Kevin Smith's movies that I've seen, but I never got around to watching this one, probably because of Ben Affleck on the cover and the fact that it was a single dad raising a daughter... yawn. But, since it was kicking around the house (my parents bought it for my sister for christmas a couple years back for some reason... she doesn't like the movie) I finally watched it, and I found myself enjoying it quite a bit. It had some good funny moments, and was entertaining through and through, especially considering i've heard a lot of Smith fans bash it.

What did everyone else think?

Didn't really enjoy this one that much, even though I tried to. Clerks II need to be out now. I need my KS fix.

It is by far and large his worst film and I thought it felt like half of a good film stappled onto half of a fucking shit film

kevin did a really good job of breaking away from his image. it was a sweet and funny movie and it is not given a fair chance by ks fans because there are no dick and fart jokes. let the man break away and transcend genres, its good for him.

i was excited about it because i was stoked that smith was trying something different.

but to me, the movie missed the mark by a long shot. i wasn't entertained in the least. not to mention that affleck was ass awful. and the whole will smith thing just came off to me as cheesy and lame.

i'd still really like to see kevin smith try something completely different. and by that, i mean even straying away from affleck and the like.

i didn't think affleck was that bad, aside from the part where he cried. other than that i thouht he suited the role quite well, and i think everyone gives him shit because its the cool thing to do.

it was so-so for me. I loved the ending of it, especially the use of Pete Townshend's song...
