Although here in america Nintendo has only stated it will cost less than 250$ so wii still have no definite price.

Yet, in japan this is a diffrent story.

The Wii has a price point set for 25,000 Yen ($222 USD). The Same price both the Gamecube and N64 were in japan. Meanwhile both GCN and N64 were 199 here. So if tradition stays true Japan will have a price of 25,00 Yen and wii will have ours at 199.99$

Although, it is possible they are considering a more even pricing instead of the normal lower US price. I could see the Wii at 229.99$ I mean the Lite is 129.99 so having a console only 100$ more wouldn't seem bad. Especially when it's not a whole 50$ more. I guess wii will have to wait and see.

ah man. i'm gonna end up buying 4 controllers with all the attachments. i was thinking about the new zelda the other day and seriously, i just felt this wave of happiness and i looked up at my friend and was just like "that was awesome. i just got so happy."

awesome...i am leaning more and more towards getting a Wii on opening. I will be getting my PS3 later on though.

i'm placing my bets on it being $250. i've seen many articles stating so, and EGM has a piece in the latest issue that plans on a $249.99 price. I could see nintendo doing that to be dicks, because $249.99 is under $250.

I'm saying every company does that as a marketing ploy. Theyll advertise something and say "all this for UNDER $100!" but it ends up being $99.99, its rather stupid seeing as we have to pay tax and everything.

oh yea, i see what you're saying. but based on that pattern, i doubt that wii will cost more in america than in japan.

I've sorta been out of the Nintendo loop.....so, there isn't going to be a new Zelda game released on Gamecube?

Actually you know nothing about nintendo since they don't market things like that, they never have ever once priced the system over the japan price. Also it was recently mentioned by them also now that it will be under the japanese price. Making 221.99$ The most it can cost.

What they are really doing is saying the Under 250$ price to guage how consumers react before they release the finale price point. Companies do this all the time.

there's actually a japanese store online that has the wii listed for 18,000 yen right now which is only $160, but they could just be guessing about the price. i got that from codenamerevolution.com
