i can't believe UMass is in the lacrosse final. This is the 1st time that school has been in the news for anything besides stabbings and armed robbery since Marcus Camby was around.

UMass, might have a player who is 6'0" but I doubt it...they are small and quick. And their goalie was nasty

UVA is just soooo good offensively...I don't think UMass can hold with them.

I think attendance for the weekend was like 50,000 at the semifinal games...so that was cool, and we snuck down to the Maryland cheering section to get seats, we were 3 rows back from the one bench (MD's and Cuse's)

I was hoping UMASS would be able to pull the upset today, Virginia was too much in the end, I think the Minutemen ran out of gas at the end, just as predicted.

Watching the game today made me wish even more that my High School had a team. We were close to getting a club team started, but then came the NJ education budget cuts, and now the idea has become somewhat of a laugh to the administration.

It's sad, really. It's an awesome sport.

Well, coming out of half, Virginia knew they were the better team...and UMass let them get too many shots up close on the goalie, ones that even he couldn't save, and he was standing on his head, there were like 55 shots, about 30ish on goal, and he saved more than half of them, which was damn impressive

I mean, two players with five goals in that game (Ward and Poskay), I mean, it was to the point that their leading goal scorer from last game (Rubeor with 4) only had 1 goal I think...it was phenomenal offensive depth.

Their goalie was decent, as was their D, but when you put up 15-19 gpg, it's doesn't matter how good your D is...it's like an NFL team putting up 28-35pts/game..you win 12/13 a season just by default

Interestingly, I think Duke had the D to slow them...and defintiely had the offense to put up 10-15 goals against the UVA D. I think a Duke/UVA final would have been ideal...but, some things happened

yeah. i thought they mentioned something about this team being like the 1990 syracuse team or something? i don't know, it was a couple days ago so i've probably got it all screwed up. but that team looked really good, offensively. i watched the entire UVA/Syracuse game and syracuse literally didn't touch the ball for like 4 minutes while UVA scored like 6 straight goals or something. it was insane.
