hey, i always burn cd's from the internet and stuff, or burn them from friends right? but alot of the time, if i really like the cd, i'll buy the actual cd, does anyone else do that?

really, i don't know why i do it. I think that having too many burned cd's just kinda scars an otherwise goodlooking cd collection... and it also like helps the band out i guess... Also, alot of the time, the actual cd is way better quality, and the songs are in order, and alot of the times, there's a song i missed when i burned it.

i download almost all of my stuff but i also go to shows alot too and buy the merchandise from there. atleast that way i know the money goes to the band.

you need to dl more carefully. usually i dont dl cd's its easy to find someone around here who has whatever your looking for

most of the time i buy the cd. but when i really want the cd but can't have it right away just cuz im broke or whatever, i just burn it from a friend. or if im checking out a band i burn it from a friend..if i really like it then i buy the actual thing

i hate burned copies, the quality is worse, the songs sometimes get cut short, there's no booklet, and you basically cheated the band out of a sale that they probibly need.

yea, but that's a seperate situation. they need money from cd sales too. buying their merch doesn't necessarily make up for it. it helps, but doesn't work as a replacement.

with small bands, any money they make pretty much goes back into financing the band, by getting burned cd's instead of buying them you kinda cheat yourself out of getting more music.

i'm always low on cash too, but i shoulda mentionned that burning cds is a good way to sample a band, just not as a primary scource of music.

exactly what i was gonna say.. i dont want to waste money on a cd that could be horrible so i burn it first to check it out. and if its really good i'll buy it the next chance i get. im pretty bad actually cuz i use to get to work really early at the mall and just listen to samples of cd's in FYE at the mall and my average cd i buy per week is around 3 which is getting expensive

I DL everything first, but don't burn too much. I buy everything i like, and burn the crap i'd listen to once in a while, but wouldnt buy. But i've bought 13 CDs since Easter so I'm outta cash. Plan B? :(

thats why you use mIRC. no searching for tracklists or worrying about missing a track etc. all the songs are already there waiting for you to download and every cd on irc is equal to cd quality. if you use kazaa etc then you get songs at a max of 128kbps. and thats lower than cd quality. mIRC is the way to go.

not to mention 95% of the cds come out on there before they hit stores or any file sharing program. i love advances.

you just convinced me to get mIRC. cuz i hate the bad quallity i normally get with kazaa
