The Audition is terribly boring and unoriginal, and their live show lacks and real entertainment value.

Thank you for being the first person with good taste to post here.

I loved their single so much that I bought their cd. Not one track on it is good other than the aforementioned single. They don't deserve to headline shit.

Headlining what, my bathroom? Has this band really sold that many albums already?

do you guys remember when a headling band usually had been around for 5+ years or so, and usually have around 3 - 4 albums worth of material, and actually have like a 75 minute set ???

Whatever happened to big headlining bands, extremely entertaining and energetic tour support, and great show productions.

I'm not knocking these two bands. I'm sure they totally deserve the success they are having, but seriously. Just cause you're signed to Victory Records doesn't denote you an automatic headlining tour. They should just only headline a regional tour. seriously. Just common business sense. Whatever though. They draw more than my band does, so what the hell do i know. Just common sense talking when local bands who get booked onto their tour to open up have to sell 50+ tickets for the show and basically bring a "fanbase" for these kids.

Whatever happened to hardwork ?

the audition has been on victory for a while now and have done months of opening for tours. its not all that farfetched that they are headlining.

there was a tour that i handled and audition had the 3 spot and there were no locals on it and i think about 600 came in. and a majority of the crowd bailed after the audition.

This tour is only going to be a few weeks long & I think mostly midwest. We just booked it at The Foundry in Joplin, MO.
& Thomas from Forgive Durden said that they'll play 2nd of 4 bands on this tour.

I saw Forgive Durden at Bamboozle just because what I heard and they blew me away. Just the enegy they had was great and they where really solid. Im glad I picked up the cd on a whim that day. I catch the tour just for them. Thats why I was glad to see Allister and Lucky Boys where taking them on tour

Joplin, MO. How far is that from St. Louis? Hopefully they hit either St. Louis or central Illinois on this tour.

From the very reliable source I have, they're not getting a break til Christmas-time.

maybe because the audition are from chicago, IL? hometown bands almost always draw big crowds.

but yeah, i mean its weird to say that a band like The Audition is "headlining" because typically "headlining" is a term that we associate with huge arenas, huge crowds; but in the booking/touring world...that's not necessarily the definition. a headlining band just means they supposedly have the biggest fanbase based on CD sales, previous touring experience, etc. than the other bands within the "package". hell, when i did the Forgive Durden, The Weakend and This Providence tour... TP was "headlining" the entire tour (save for the hometown show for The Weakend i think). at that time, their album on Rocketstar had just dropped about 3-4 months before. they were bigger than The Weakend (lacking full length) and FD (lacking both full length and label support), therefore they were the headliners. sometimes "headliners" on smaller tours don't even necessarily headline every single night (as in play last), sometimes strong locals close out the show so as to make sure kids are still around for the entier thing. headlining is just a word really..

They've been touring for almost a year straight supporting other tours. I see nothing wrong with them finally having a tour of their own.

Also, I'm wondering if this is the same tour that Just Surrender is gonna be on (heading out to the west coast). Or if this is an entirely different tour that is happening after that.

Joplin is about 4 hrs from St Louis. We're only 8 miles from the Oklahoma border.
We just opened up an amazing new venue down here (where this show will be, as well as tons of others this summer like Spitalfield/June & Dillenger Escape Plan to name a few).

i understand what your saying about them only getting the title "headlining" because they are the biggest band on the tour, but the tour i had was headlined by the Junior Varsity (in thier home town) and the band after aud and before jv was JUNE, and aud still got the most love.

so saying aud are hometown boys isnt very accurate. saying they did a good job and won the crowd over and developed a fanbase would be more accurate.

the aud deserves it. as much as i dont want to say it. ( i liked evo , sorry danny your still cool )

i agree, at least with the first half, since i've never seen them live. a lot of my friends are really into them so i've listened to the album a couple times, but i can't see the appeal. sure, some of the songs are catchy, but not anything i'd be interested in listening to regularly.
