View Full Version : AP.net Question: Dashes, Slashes, or Dots (Oh My!)?
Adrian Villagomez

The AP.net staff is trying to decide which form of punctuation would work best when it comes to news posts containing the day's date (example (http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?t=1395931)).
Should we used dashes: Reviews (10-28-09)
Slashes: Reviews (10/28/09)
Or periods: Reviews (10.28.09)
Let us know which you prefer.

Apples
1. Dashes
2. Slashes

Though I don't favour dashes over slashes that much. Just not periods plz.

Periods. They don't take up too much room and they don't take the eye away from the numbers. Apples would be pretty funny, though.

I like how periods look (not like that, you sickos), but since the rest of the site uses slashes, I think it should stay that way.

I always get confused because of this. it seems strange to have it like month/day/year.

People use periods for the date?

I use periods when I write and type because of the ease of doing it. However, I think that the periods are the least readable of the three when you see it in a newspost title. All three types are on the front page right now (on purpose) so that you can see and compare.

Periods look cool at first, but I think their grammatical ridiculousness in a date would bother me eventually.
