I'd like to find the beautiful life
But not a sign I see
On a plane there, yes
we can exist metaphysically
Who wants to be there?- Who, oh, who?
No one I know for sure;
where time is all and reason-
where love waits I'm not so sure
To think of all the time I've spent
Looking for beautiful lies
When I know that in the end-
I will have no beautiful life

feels a little more of a mellow sadness than emo. i guess sometimes it can be a tough line to draw, but to me this is more insightful than whiny.

When I wrote this I tried writing a ballad without writing one, umm that is I wanted the emotions of a ballad without all the other bullshit, thanks for the critique though
