According to a recent story, Fox Head Tom Rothman has confirmed (http://www.themovieblog.com/archives/2006/01/fox_confirms_xmen_4.html) there will be an X-Men 4, and possibly many more films in the franchise.

They could do another series but they have to bring back Nightcrawler and bring in Gambit.

theyve always hinted that it was the last movie in a trilogy. so, an X4 movie doesnt surprise me in the least. especially with all the characters they introduced in X3 and BARELY used

yeah, they need to make up for how absolutely horrible the new flick was. i mean, i dont want to get too into the points that brought it to its demise but, any chance to dig them out would be commended.

Ehh we'll see what happens..I enjoyed The Last Stand, but I found myself rolling my eyes at the horrendous acting at times. Not too mention the Phoenix storyline should not be confined to an hour and 47 minutes. I don't think they made smart storyline decisions at all with several of the key characters that most of you already know about. It was a good movie for the amount of time they were given to make it, but doesn't hold up to X-men or X2. It'll do well financially with no competition until Cars on the 9th, but a disappointment as a movie if you ask me. The money will be enough for Fox to make another one, but who knows if it will even be worth it as the headliners in the series probably won't want to come back unless they somehow get Singer back.

i dont understand how anyone can complain about more x-men movies. compared to the rest of the recent onslaught of comic book based movies, the x-men series has clearly been at the top of the game. all 3 of the movies released so far were extremely entertaining, and in all honesty, to limit the series to 3 films would not only be unfortunate, but it would be selling the fans short by depriving them of a big budget, well produced adaptation of some truly amazing story lines. clearly people would still want them, i mean i went to a midnight showing for x3 the day it came out and there was such a huge response that the theatre not only had a 12 oclock show, but subsequent shows at 12:15, 12:30, 12:45, 1, 1:15, and 1:30...and that's for a fucking midnight show, not to mention the mobscene later on for the normal opening showtimes.

i dunno if this'll work. They introduced a bunch of new characters, but lost a bunch of majors ones as well. Plus there's no guarantee actors would return after this one. If it pans out i guess it could be cool though.

After the end of the Last Stand they couldn't really leave it there. However it'll be interesting to see how they go on without 3 (well, 2) main characters.

Some kind of storyline with Sentinels would be pretty awesome, maybe introducing other characters, however one of things I did like about the X-Men films is they were never THAT farfetched.

well i was thnking if they put in Apocalypse, it sets the whole thing up for a very different story (not like how the first three are mutants vs. humans)

Gambit would be nice addition too. he's basically the whole reason that Rogue doesnt commit suicide. its something like he makes energy and rogue takes it, so touching her doesnt hurt him

I doubt we'll ever see anything like Apocalypse or Onslaught. They've kept the stories mild. Nothing too crazy that would scare away people that weren't fans of the books. I bet it'll be about the sentinels and maybe another Villan.

It was stupid that they called it the last movie. Even more stupid was they called it a trilogy and that it had all been planned to be 3-movie story which wasn't true.

Anyway I hope there's some chance that Bryan Singer will do another X-Men movie but FOX will probably settle with Ratner again.

I was under the impression, from what I've heard from others, that the reason Gambit was not involved in the 3 movies made up to now was copyright laws? Something about him relating and looking very, very similar to another character in another movie...

I don't know which movie or character he relates to, does anyone?

Yeah, I heard that two right before X2 came out. I can see their point, yet I think that Wolverine and Gambit have always complemented eachother quite well. Gambit's abilities would be great to see in live adaptation in my opinion. But...who would play him the best? My vote is Heath Ledger. He is really good at different accents (Lords of Dogtown, Brokeback Mntn.) and I don't think they would have a problem making him look the part.

either was x men 3. you have to understand sin city, its hit or miss if you know anything frank miller.

x men is suppose target a bigger fan base. but they are obviously having casting troubles if they cant get characters to stay or they lose them (nightcrawler) or cant even get a freaking guy from a tv series (lost) to play gambit. thats pretty pathetic for entertainment.

you mean sin city movie not movies. for all you know, the next one could suck as they introduce more characters.

As for x men, I liked the 3rd one. I'm not really up to date on the stories so i guess i'm not qualified to say how good it is one way or the other. i thought it was entertaining and i guess i didnt pay much attention to the acting or one liners (i actually laughed at a few). well unlike x men, sin city is gonna poor 30 new characters on you and give them 3 lines a piece with no development. and i guess your not much of a sin city fan to know they are using the same actors/actresses and characters in number two. just different stories inside eachother like the first. so for all i know the next sin city has a better chance of not shitting the bed like x men 3 did, for me at least.

Plain and simple, if you really love the x-men then you wont give a shit if any more movies come out/who directs them. Granted i would be bummed if people like Jackman and Berry didnt come back and got replaced but regradless i would still love the movies because im a fan of the series and comics.

Im a huge fan of the crow series and it has only progressively gotten worse and worse as far as movies go, but im a fan so i still buy the dvds and watch them even though i know there is a shit ton of acting lessons and directorial lessons needed.

They made like eleventeen jason movies, why get all upset about i 4th x-men movie. Sheesh people.

If you stayed for the 20 second clip after the movie then you'd have to assume there will be more to follow this one, trust me I work at a movie theater and I've seen it many times already. The series definetly will continue.

X-Men is hot now and why would you pass down the oppurtunity to make millions of more dollars. It should be interesting seeing what they do with the storyline. I'd also like to see if they can get Halle Berry to do another one seeing as it took a lot to gte here to do the latest one.

Plain and simple, if you really love the x-men then you wont give a shit if any more movies come out/who directs them.
Thats like saying "If you really love Metallica, or any other band, then you wont give a shit if any more albums come out/whose in the band." No! It's the exact opposite bro!

I love comics and i dig the X-Men, so therefore i do give a fuck how they are represented on the film screen. I make conscious efforts to act far from the generic snobbish "Comic Book Guy" fanboy, but I and many people me like have grown up reading and still read the graphic novels. We have an emotional attachment to the characters. Just like cats have an emotional attachment to a band's they've been listening to since childhood. And just like they'd get pissed if that band sold out, I get pissed when these characters are protrayed in a wrong light.

whos Omega Red? i havent read the comics in years

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Omega_Red

Omega Red (Arkady Rossovich) is a comic book supervillain in the Marvel Comics universe and a foe of the X-Men. His first appearance was X-Men (vol. 2) #4 (1992).

A mutant, Rossovich possessed the ability to siphon the life-force of others. The Soviet counterpart to the Weapon X program of the United States and Canada turned him into a supersoldier, bonding a super strong metal alloy called "carbonadium" to his body and implanting metal tentacles, which use his life-draining abilities, into each of his arms.

Omega Red battled Weapon X subject Wolverine sometime during the Cold War, the start of a decades-long feud between the two. The Soviets eventually realized that Red was an uncontrollable psychopath and placed him in suspended animation. He has since been freed and become a world-renowned criminal and mercenary.

And it's not going to be X-Men 4 so much as spin-off movies. I believe they've got three planned... One about Woleverine, one about Mangneto and Xavier taking place from about 1955-1980 (their friendship then becomming enemies, I'd guess) and I'm not sure which the thrid will be.

ive also heard about the wolverine movie being made
