So i just picked up their lastest cd today "judas goats and dieseleaters." For the people who have been listening to this band since "Its Such a Same that a family can be torn apart......" What does everyone think about the new album? Its deffinitly alot sludgier i guess then "Its Such" because there last was pretty much just straight up grind.
So what does everyone else think?
i think i like its such a same more then judas goats.

Most people will tell you that Its Such a Shame... is much better than Judas Goats and I tend to agree.

I liked It's A Shame... (no "such").
And yeah, it is a better album than Judas Goats but I don't agree with the statement that it's almost straight-up grind. There are a lot of other influences there too, some much more so than grind, but I will definately agree with you that it's a strong release.
At first, I liked the sludgier production of Judas Goats but after I was like, five minutes through, it just got really distracting. It makes it really hard to pay attention to what's actually going on in the song.
Also, I personally hate the sound of Peavey 5150's, and somehow, the Crate full stack that he used to use sounded way better than what he's using now (and it was a fucking Crate). 5150's just sound so garbly and thick, it really irritates me. That's pretty much my only beef with the guitar tone.
I liked the vocals better on It's A Shame..., but the drum tracks are mixed so much better on Judas Goats.

i dunno, i enjoyed judas goats. i kinda like the sludgier sound. live, however, they play a mix of old and new, and i love everything from it's a shame..sooo i'm favoring the older material.

kind of unrelated, but they're touring with The Number 12 Looks Like You and HeavyHeavyLowLow this summer.

Yeah, that's cool.
They toured with the #12, Animosity and Through The Eyes of The Dead a while back. I saw them; Veil of Maya was the support.
I loved the show, but personally, I hated the #12's and TTEOTD's sets (but that may partially be based on the fact that I strongly dislike both bands.)
TTEOTD sounded like absolute shit, and there is no way around it. However, I will give The #12 this much: although I don't like them, they were accurate to their recordings live.
If you do end up going to see them, Ed Gein is worth seeing.

I believe it.
But, I am curious to see who takes it at the Necrophagist, Ion Dissonance, Animosity, Alarum and JFAC show.
Although I really don't like JFAC, I've heard really good things about their live set.
But, I'm sure that even if they are really good, they will still be the worst band there judging by what I've seen and heard from the other acts.
Destined to be a pretty good show.

Necrophagist takes that show hands down.

In terms of talent, then yes, I completely agree. But, I'm just not sure if it will be the most fun/energetic set of the night.
I'll find out, though, I guess.

yeah, i'm thinking necrophagist will take it, without a doubt. animosity will still be heavy as shit, but seriously... it's necrophagist.
