With a crop of talent on long island and tons of younger/unsigned bands,it bums me out this is what get signed.

To all you people hating just shut your fuckin mouths , first off I show nothing but love for this band, i know the members personally and they are all true real people who make music straight from the heart. To all you guys making remarks about the female bassist should have some self control and find another forum to jerk off too, this is about music only so keep it that way. If you look at any band with a negative attitude without giving them a shot your not even worthy of saying anything. If you break down Phase 9's music and really appreicate their sound and talent you will find their meaning and a love for them. I give credit to any band trying to put out stuff but I don't enjoy generic bullshit like most of you on this forum but I can tell you Phase 9 is a hard working true band and if you havent seen them live or really sat down and felt out their tracks you can't say anything especially if you an asshole who wants to sit on forums commenting about sex appeal, thats not why they got signed to Capitol, we have a porn industry for those of you who just want to stair at women all day. I think the case here is people are getting upset becuase a band made it becuase they have what it takes, no one has the right to say "they will be dropped in a year" thats just jeleousy. If you have ever been to a Phase 9 show you know the energy that comes out as soon as they hit stage, unfortuantly todays "hip" music in the rock industry is emo, although I give them credit for playing music they all sound the same and represent sad children who cut themselves and cry, so in that case they arent in the scene and they represent something different. I think people need to break down this bands instrumental talents as well. I think people on this site need to just wake up and know whats coming to them and focus on thats important. The music.

I guess I can see where some of you are coming from in saying this band sounds like shit, because quite frankly their recordings do them absolutely no justice. On top of that, the songs posted on their myspace [www.myspace.com/phase9] (http://www.myspace.com/phase9]) may not be their most amping material. But garunteed, if any of you made it to a live show you'd be fucken blown away. I deal with many bands, and all of them are amazing, But none of them have pulled off some of the shit these guys have. From playing a full set show for close to no one on a last minute show, to packin out the imfamous CBGB's for an amazing night and right down to a truely truely ridiculous preformance the day after cancelation in Jersey due to Kenny's illness, I mean this guy was carrying around a box of orange juice and nearly passed out after the set because he put his entire heart into it. Not many bands have the drive that these guys have, not many at all, and none of them are nearly as candid and down to earth as these guys. A lot of people say their music is for fun and say they're not materialistic, but these guys are definately not out to impress anyone but their fans. All 5 of these guys have come a long way, a few have been dealing with music and bands since they were younger. Their drummer has won a competitions, John Secolo's Solo's are ridiculous, if you get the chance, check the video on their street team page [www.myspace.com/phase9street] (http://www.myspace.com/phase9street]), Lauren Sauer does have looks but she is amazingly talented under that all too, for a chick to hang in with 4 guys while they rip the stage is definately something you give props for. Phase 9 has fans from New York to California, Ohio, Texas, Mexico, Canada, Austrailia, Spain, England etc. There's a lot of talent on myspace, the internet, and the radio. But much of it goes unnoticed and often times bashed because people are so brainwashed by fucken technology and love the shit that isn't produced by people, but by machine.
But like I said, I guess it's understandable that Phase 9 sucks compared to fall out boy and Hawthorne Heights. It must be tough having to do over 100 takes just to finish one track. I guess phase 9 wouldn't know anything about that

Yo, they sound insane! I've seen them live on numerous occasions and they dominate the crowd, not to mention the following they have and the numerous battle of the bands they have crushed. With no other band have I ever seen a place fill up to watch them and riot when some asshole on the switchboard cut there time short. They've played the biggest clubs and such around NY from the crazy donkey, to CBGB's. Look out for them and see why the fact that lauren is hot has nothing to do with them getting signed smart ass. Oh and don't go hating, cause you don't want your friends to find this a year from now when you're trying to fit in by blasting there shit and memorizing lyrics off the internet.

i couldnt agree more. i know the band personally as well, been with them since their first show. i have nothing but love and respect for them as people and musicians. all of you who say they suck, or that they dont deserve this, go talk to someone who cares about your bullshit. phase 9 are the most hardworking and wonderful people i know. they have true fans who will always be with them, so your words wont mean anyting to anybody but yourself.

These guys deserve this. I've never met such a hard working band before. They got this deal because they worked their asses off for it, not expecting anything more or anything less than what they've put their time and effort into. If you don't like their music, that's fine, but that's no reason to ramble on about how they do not deserve to be signed. And as far as their musicianship goes, I haven't seen a local band in a long time who has such talented players. The drummer is insane, the lead guitarist is compared (and rightfully so) to the likes of Eddie Van Halen, the second guitarist pours out his heart and soul onstage, the bass player rocks harder than any girl I've ever seen live (and harder than most guys I've seen too) and the singer is fucking great. I've only seen them live a few times, but every time I see them I become more and more impressed. Not only do they put on a CRAZY show, but I've never ever seen them leave right after they play--they ALWAYS stick around to talk to every single person who comes up to them and they always stick around to check out the other bands playing and that says a lot to me. It shows that they have respect for local music and that they never fail to support local musicians. In return, I think they deserve a little more respect and credability.

they're an AMAZING band from long island, ny..home of possibly the greatest bands (tbs, brand new, straylight run, glassjaw, nightmare of you, i am the avalanche).
they got a huge following on the island and mix awesome vocals with melodic breakdowns and riffs.
