my vote is for Darko...not really...but im not goin with Wade, yes hes goin to the NBA Finals(well so it seems), but hes playing along with Shaq...LeBron makes his team better, if hes not scoring at will, hes getting assists or sometimes both...and his potential is off the charts...but anyway, its too early for arguements...

give lebron shaq

give lebron shaq
wade got them to the playoffs his rookie year too -- no shaq.
But I still think Lebron is the best.
actually i guess i hit wade on accident.

Lebron is on his way.

haha, those are my 3 favorite players. fuck you.
lebron>wade>anthony
Detroit will be having nightmares about lebron and wade all offseason. i mean, remember game 3 of the cavs pistons series, lebron was setting everyone up all game, then in the fourth quarter he told all of the pistons to fuck off and was scoring whenever he pleased, and finished with a triple double.

edit: to jtrain:
i like how you give 0 reasons for voting wade and a bunch for lebron, but you vote wade.

had to go with lebron, even though wade's team is doing much better, he has a better supporting cast
this was also proven to hold true when the two squared off late in the season.....i was at that game and it was probably the best game of the year......in my opinion obviously

Wade is one of my favorite players but I am going to have to go with Lebron being better right now.

Lebron is hands down the best. Wade is certainly developing into a league best guard. Right now though, Lebron can carry a team more than wade.
(Btw, my fav players go Lebron > Nash > Wade > Disco Dirk)
And no vote for bosh eh? No love.

Wade and Lebron can be argued, but i really hope no one is idiotic enough to think Carmelo is the best.

Wade is a fantastic player, but Lebron could go down as the best ever. Better than Jordan.

I think LeBron was the best to come out that year. However, I like him the least. This is the order of the '03 rookies that I like the best:
Carmelo
Wade
Hinrich

It's obviously LeBron. He can do it all, and does it all very well (at the least). He just needs to improve his D a bit, and he's the best player in the NBA. Some can argue that he's the best player now, but I still give that to Kobe.
I love Wade, he's my favorite player in the NBA, but I would take LeBron over Wade anyday.

after this series, i wonder if anyones changed their mind.
i for one was shocked to see wade only get 4 votes to begin with.

i'm still stickin with lebron.
doesn't matter who gets there first. it's how many times. it's still way too early to tell.

agreed. This question should be asked in 7-8 years ..then we'll have a much better idea.

yeah i agree... They are both great players, Lebron may have been able to do the same thing with the Heat. However, I think Wade put himself into top 5, top 7 current nba players.

haha he was already in at least the top 7 NBA players, I think he put himself into top 3 with that performance.
I think it's completely ridiculous that anyone is saying Wade is better than James.

yeah, i think LeBron is more versatile because of his size. Wade is great, but has Shaq with him, so we can't really tell if he is that great because he has one of the most dominant players ever at his side (dont get me wrong, i think Wade is amazing)

Yes. because this is clearly the same Shaq that was in Orlando and in his early LA days and was going for 40 and 15 every night in the playoffs.

people always point at wade's team as being better. i dont buy it. quit being blinded by the names. shaq is nowhere near the shaq that he was before. payton and zo are obviously in their decline, as well as walker. wade has had to carry his team just as much as lebron.

that's a really dumb statement. shaq is better than Illgauskas, Zo is better than Varejao, Payton is better Flip Murray (truth), Posey and Marshall are comprable, same with Hasleem and Gooden. Plus, the Heat have Walker. Miami is loaded compared to the Cavs' roster.

There's no way Wade is alone. I would tell you why, but I think Scott covered it pretty well.

i agree with this. the heat are a better roster/team than the cavs.
That said, wade did carry the heat. but not as much as lebron had to carry the cavs.

i've said it all season long, i think d wade is a better player overall. he's got better leadership skills than lebron, imo. i do think they're both the future of the nba though. and i'd love to see them turn into rivals, in the same way that bird/magic were rivals. i think it'd be great for basketball, and i'd love to see their two teams duke it out next year for a trip to the finals.
