lmao at all the self-absorbed, pretentious asshole who like to pretend that Riot! isnt the best album by far.

just because it's popular and ruined any sort of respectability to YOUR PERSONAL credentials of music taste, doesn't mean it's the most unique, catchiest, and by far most superior of their albums by far.

All we know is falling would be absolute shit/garbage if it wasn't for a female singe....this was my initial review of the album, and to this date (even though now I am currently a fan of paramore) I still feel this way. Each song is very un-involved, borring, and typical of the scene. It's obviously not awful, but it's so mundane and obvious, it's nothing unique at all.

Riot! offers, for the most part, a different/decently fast paced song for each song. From Optimist to Fences to Born for this (non-singles), each of these songs offers a pretty substantial punk rhythm that really gets you intrigued into this band. I know, that these songs were the ones that got me into Paramore into the first placed. And don't get me wrong, the over-played radio singles were actually quite catchy as well...just because the radio station that you choose to listen to plays a song too much, shouldn't disqualify the song from being good. "that's what you get" is a perfect mid-tempo ballad, that you don't that often with this scene music.

Brand New Eyes...is growing on me, no doubt about it. There's clearly some emotion and soul that was put into this album, that was evidently vacant from Riot! (only critique from that album). Each song has a moment of amazingness to it I've noticed...there are moments in each song where I'm like "this is nice"...but unfortunately there aren't many songs that maintain this amazingness throughout, which leaves some songs to be forgetful. If it wasn't for the fact that this CD has been on repeat in my car for a while, I think this CD would be an easy listen and throw away album...but then again there's obviously something about this album that makes me want to listen to it over and over again. It's not as fast paced as Riot!...but it's not borring like All We Know is Falling....i't's an obvious nice attempt at an album that means something to THEM and to their die hard fans as well.

this band is a beautiful example of growing up, right in front of our eyes.... I know I'm probably looking too much into it, but it's true. A band that's truly finding their own place in music immortality that's still growing is great. Normal to making a statement to showing their colors...Paramore is a band that's fun to grow with, keep it up.

Short answer: RIOT! is their most fun and fastest pace album, it's clearly the best..anyone who thinks differently is a stuck up fan, so suck it.

Fun + Fast Pace =/= Great albums.

Deja Entendu is neither of those two, but is still fantastic. Metro Station is both of those things and is absolutely terrible.

but if you're talking about a band that typicall thrives on the energy of a crowd at a show....or tries to hoard in on kids from 11-25, usually a fun "punkier" sound is the way to go. Especially since on Riot! there is a clear difference between each song, which is something that's nice to hear on an album...rather when you listen to All We Know is Falling, it just sounds like your every day run of the mill throw away scene album (like four year strong or cartel).

And clearly this appeals to a person like me, who is generally a fan of "punk" type music and/or albums that have a nice abundance of unique/clever songs.

Cartel is by no means "scene," nor disposable by any means. Chroma is by far one of the best pop-punk albums of the 2000's, and greatly surpasses anything that Paramore has ever done. I, too am a fan of pop-punk, but if anything, Riot! was Paramore's most cliche album, in that it did appeal to kids 11-25, had radio singles, overly polished sound, and sold millions of copies. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like the majority of All We Know Is Falling is far more energetic than anything on Riot!. Riot! may have been more diverse, but you expect that as a sophomore album as opposed to a first, and also, a much bigger budget. And also, diverse =/= good music.

Just because someone's favorite Paramore album is AWKIF doesn't mean that they are a "self-absorbed, pretentious asshole" or a "stuck up fan." It just means that they have a different taste than you. You should be able to acknowledge that people have different tastes, and that your taste isn't better than anyone else's. I understand your stand on the subject, but you are acting like everyone who has a different opinion than you is is just straight up wrong.

Oh, and AWKIF > BNE > Riot!, in my opinion.

i dont know man....i think it's interesting when a fan of music in general throws out an album where each song is unique in its own way, compared to an album with one or two memorable songs, with tons of fillers. Everytime I listen to All We Know is Falling I can barely remember any of the hooks or choruses of any song. It's just that generic scene sound that I try to avoid as much as possible. On Riot you have songs like Fences which has a little rockabilly sound to it, or Pessimist which offers an awesome little punch many times throughout the song, or even everyones favorite "thats what you get" which does the impossible (in my mind) with a great solid catchy mid-tempo song. The only thing Riot! was lacking was a lovely slow ballad which Brand New Eyes does VERY well (misguided ghosts/all I wanted was you).

Dont get me wrong...i like brand new eyes a lot too. Hayley's voice is so vibrant in brand new eyes that it's awesome. The cd's been in my car for a while now. I just cant honestly believe that people would rather listen or see live All We Know is Falling over riot, and/or brand new eyes. AWKiF was clearly a young, undeveloped sound from a band that was just starting out.

I'm not a huge fan of any Paramore. It's not like I hate it but it's all really boring to me. Neither fun or energetic are words I feel are credible things to substantiate a claim of music quality. That being said, even though AWKIF does sound very much like alot of other bands, at least it sounded genuine. Riot sounded like a riduculously over-produced studio ploy at achieving teenage radio success, which is exactly what it was. I haven't listened to BNE alot but it sounds much the same to me.

WAY too much effort for a Paramore debate
1) I was drunk (honestly) 2) I have actually listened to their small catalogue through and through so it allows me to have a good understanding of how I feel about them 3) It's like my 9th favorite band, so I feel strongly about this.

Short answer: RIOT! is their most fun and fastest pace album, it's clearly the best..anyone who thinks differently is a stuck up fan, so suck it.

fucking a, dude. I wholeheartedly agree.

dude i was thinking the exact same thing. Riot is really good throughout and theres a lot of variety to the songs. AWKIF is nothing out of the ordinary, it was unoriginal and not even that catchy (which is kind of important for a pop-punk band). Brand new eyes had some good songs but its not consistent

Fun + Fast Pace =/= Great albums.

Deja Entendu is neither of those two, but is still fantastic. Metro Station is both of those things and is absolutely terrible.

Metro Station is fast paced. Good god tell that to Husker Du.

Aaaaand here come the obligatory "I-know-faster-paced-bands-than-the-one-you-mentioned" comments. Scene point awarded to you for knowing a band that's faster paced than Metro Station, because God knows I thought long and hard about which band to call fast paced.

i can recognise that brand new eyes and all we know is falling are probably 'better' than riot, lyrically and in terms of variety.. but riot is still my favourite just in terms of repeat playability, it's a fun record to listen to. plus, that's what you get is one of the better pop songs i've heard in a long time.

God that's a long way to say you have an opinion about something. You don't speak for everyone you taint. Everyone likes different things. Riot! lacked attitude. That's my opinion. You are a douche. That is also my opinion

But an opinion can mean more when its backed by a strong reason for that opinion. Just to say "This band sucks" is a lacking opinion...to say "this band sucks because of reason 1, reason 2, and reason 3"...the 2nd guy means more.

besides opinions can be wrong

haha it actually reminds me of when i borrowed your car that time (seriously you were far too trusting there considering the number of dents and scratches on my car lol) and the paramore cd was in it so i just listened to that on the way to work and back and that was when i realised i actually quite liked them :$

Riot! is definitely my favorite. I can listen to every track and not get bored. As for brand new eyes and All We Know Is Falling, there are definitely some very good songs on them, but as far as an overall album, Riot! wins.

As for favorite song by Paramore? That has to go to "Emergency (Crab Mix)" off of the Summer Tic EP.

RIOT! just sounds too similar, as does AWKIF, all the songs sound too similar on those albums. I only tend to listen to a few on each. (For AWKIF - Pressure, Emergency, Whoa, Here We Go Again. For RIOT! - For a Pessimist I'm Pretty Optimistic, TWYG, Let the Flames Begin, crushcrushcrush.)

But, BNE is unique and the instruments and Hayley's voice just sound amazing. There's only one song on that album I don't like at all and that's The Only Exception. Every other song can be played over and over (in my opinion.)

And Careful is my favorite Paramore song.
