Man, I don't think a band member has ever been this popular. I mean, I know there's been artists, actors, etc. obviously, but I can't think of anyone else that was this noticed and disected from their band as a whole by MTV or the media to the point where they're co-hosting pre-shows for award shows. For example, if this were Blink, they would've had the whole band there. Pete is def an interesting phenomenon in this regard.

It's possibly also because the rest of the band members are so un-phenomenal in the media eye, but i can't help but agree with you. Jared, I call on you to coin a catchphrase for this pete wentz craze.

I remember for one of these award shows Mark Hoppus and Beyonce were the preshow hosts, that was pretty random and entertaining.
This whole Pete thing is kinda similiar to just the Maddens of Good Charlotte getting alot of press and not the whole band. But whatever, Pete seems like a cool guy, so congradulations I guess.
Rihanna is hot.

Man I agree with Jared, but I think most of us on here new about Pete being a phenomenon from the beginning. I knew when I started following Pete and the band years ago, that he was pretty unique. He has a way with words, where he kinda smoothes things out so you can feel for him no matter what level hes on. He doesn't let you in totally, but he allows you to peek through the window to see whats going on.

Fred Durst was pretty far out there while majority of the Limp Bizkit bandmates were in the background in the eyes of MTV back in 1999-2000. Wes got some pub every so often but it was mainly all-Fred Durst.
