A new MySpace bulletin posted by Kevin Devine (http://www.absolutepunk.net/kevindevine) reveals that his latest album Put Your Ghost to Rest is "done, mixed, mastered, sequenced, approved, and waiting to be released." However, artwork and some small print still need to be completed. The album is set for a late summer release.

if the demos are any indication, the album should sound pretty good. typical, solid kd songs.

Ugh. He needs to play some Boston shows. He's too good live. The album is going to be amazing and I love the title. It seems to fit.

Also, isnt the release date august 29th? tonic is on the lower east side i think though i may be wrong. shows there are either 21+ but for some reason i think most are 18+

It's a good album but it's missing the edge of his previous albums. It's a bit more repetitive and watered down. Don't get me wrong, it's better than what else is out there this year but it's below par for Kevin.

He's on Capitol now as opposed to Triple Crown so more people have messed with it, which is a shame.

KINJA! TEAM KEVS! Yeah, we'll be in top form that night...EVERYONE is going to be there. Plus, Team Kevs pool party at my house is going to be the official kickoff to Summer of '06.

I have heard a good chunk of this album through live shows and the internet, and it is incredible...especially if you know the story behind what has been going on with this man for the past year or so. I have to wait for the album to see if it'll top any of his previous work, but I feel like it has potential to. It can easily take the title of the record of '06 (even considering all of the anticipated releases of this year). We'll see.

And to someone who asked...Kevin isn't headlining all of these shows. The TLA, 9:30 Club, and House of Blues (maybe others, I don't remember all of the dates) are in support of Mike Doughtry. I'm pretty sure the Jersey dates are all headlining. I can't wait until Maxwell's, best venue ever...and they have amazing food.

Thankfully, he's said that that's not the case. He worked with most of the same people, and Capitol has been treating him extraordinarily well so far. But then again, Rob Schnapf did overwork two Saves the Day albums. But if Kevin has confidence in it, I think that's the most important thing right now. We shall see come August (God willing).

Very true. I trust Kev. And as long as he keeps playing about 300 live shows a year, it'll all be good because every show I've ever seen has been amazing
