Guitar Hero or Rock Band

Which do you prefer playing? Which is your favorite series?

Personally I prefer playing Guitar Hero, I think the game makes the songs a bit tougher to play so it makes it a bit funner. But Rock Band is good too.

The fact that we need a Guitar Hero, then Rock Band, then Guitar Hero: World Tour, then Band Hero has completely turned me off of the series. It's getting ridiculous.

Rock band. Just because of the beatles. It is easier too which helps me feel good about myself when I 5 star a song on expert. Plus the band hero thing makes the people behind it look like pussies. Seriously who puts hilary duff and taylor swift on a band hero game? Should've called this game "another way to make money!"

its just for the sake of fun. If I want a challenge I would play guitar hero, but if I'm with friends at a party, guarateed we would go for rock band.

I like Guitar Hero more because of the highway set up. Easier to play for me. But Rock Band has 800+ downloadable songs on Xbox Live and Guitar Hero has like 50, and they suck. Pretty hard choice but I'll go with Guitar Hero.

Rock Band, mainly out of allegiance to Harmonix, the guys who brought us the first two Guitar Hero games, before Activision and them split. Activision's business practices in general make them seem like asshats to me.

Plus, GH's art direction after GH2 looks kind of gross to me. Aesthetics are important too :P

I was a fan of Harmonix since '01 when Frequency came out... game was the shit. Then Amplitude came out and it too was the shit. Those two games (especially Amplitude) never got enough love.

Good poll. I was considering which one to buy this November so I might get my answer right here. I haven't try either but I'm leaning toward GH just because the instruments are more closely resemble the real one.
