I'd say Attitude's album was a BIT better than Guns Up!'s

They're both really good though, along with the new Sinking Ships, and I've got really high hopes for Betrayed's full length, I think that's going to blow everything out of the water.

my favourite grindcore album thus far is Genghis Tron's.

guns up is pretty bad

good records...
this band from chicago called FEW AND THE PROUD- the stampede.. the lp/cd comes out towards the end of june, and it's sooooooo hard. if you like OUTBURST... you'll be into this band. WWW.MYSPACE.COM/FEWANDTHEPROUD
the hope conspiracy- hang your cross 7"/death knows your name LP...AWESOME, so glad they're back
the first step-what we know...best youth crew band right now
terror- always the hard way
sinking ships- disconnecting
brain handle- forgot the name of their new 7", but its awesome, and i'm never usually into this type of stuff
the helm- new stuff is amazing... if you're into crust type stuff
rise and fall- into oblivion..... yes........
this is hell- sundowning
none more black- this is satire
think i care- world asylum ... couldn't get into the first two 7"s, but this and 'mongrel' are soooooooo good
disappointments-
path- cant stop the truth... maybe that's just because they release 'who dares wins'... haha
tragedy- nerve damage... can't seem to get into it, maybe it'll grow on me, or maybe its just because it can't compare to 'vengeance'

check these bands out:

Im not getting the Stay gold comparsion but I like both bands a lot. I haven't listen to Set it straight enough (or at all/ I'm not sure) but ya. Check this song out, I like that they're focusing more on their poppunk side and just making a sound that blends both pop punk/hxc but it much more smooth.

Yes, I completely agree. Hardcore vocalists don't have to scream to be in a hardcore band. Ignite gets it, and Zoli is the best vocalist in hardcore, imo. He's got a great voice.

I've said it before, but it's worth repeating, "Our Darkest Days" is the best album I've heard this year, not just hardcore, overall.

06/06/06, 04:02 PM
guns up is really overrated. the new album is nothing but a straight rip off:

-no warning (no suprise, the entire "all this is" album was a straight no warning carbon copy)
-leeway
-blacklisted (i can hardly tell the difference between blacklisted's outro and guns up's)
-entombed

also i know shipwreck and guns up are friends and all but that one song with JD is kind of cheesy.

don't get me wrong, guns up is a hard working hardcore band, they came from humble beginings and have really earned all the attention they have been getting through hard work and constant touring, but this new album isn't as great as everyone is making it out to be.....if you think they are so good then check out no warning cause thats pretty much what guns up wish they were.

and now the best hardcore releases of 2005:
bitter end - mind in chains
will to live - tested and true
iron age - constant struggle
crime in stereo - the troubled stateside

Go It Alone is better, but only slightly. Very slightly.

wow. i come on and things are all crazy.

the guns up record is sweet.
the first step's what we know is radical.
sinking ships meridian came out last may i think it was.
as paul said "disconnecting" is coming out in july i think the 23rd.
someone said they were excited for the new blacklisted? wtf. are you completely talking out of your ass? ( now for some miracle reason they may be releasing another album this year that i don't know about cause i don't go on the internet a lot over the summer. so who knows. but i am 99% sure they aren't having a new album out this year.) ..The beat goes on was just released in november.
I have not herad any new SYG tracks but i am betting they are stellar.
Someone said they just got the new champion? you must be talking about their split but even that isn't that new.
i am stoked for real for Have Hearts new ablum.
Also Down To Nothing's new album. I find them to be awesome as i am sure many of you do. i am guessing mikeford and andrew don't like them though. either way i love them.
i am excited for Signs of Hope's new cd too.
This is Hell's cd is growing on me. It seems to be a well done cd. i like it.
I am interested to hear Betrayed's new cd.
have a good day.

december, fam.

and i liked "save it for the birds" but not really the songs off splitting headache or the song that was on the rev comp. they are headed too much towards a terror ripoff for my liking. bummer.

well then i stand corrected. that is a fast turnaround for a new album. especially since they have been touring so much. either way rad.
i agree that save it for the birds was a lot better.

EDIT: oh and go buy the sinking ships album criesof thepast. too many people on here ask for music. just buy it.
"but sam bands barely make any money off of cd sales"
well the record lables need support too or else they wouldn't be able to sign sweet bands and put out sweet records. most of the bands in this thread are on sweet lables such as 1917 or rivalry which all need support too.

Heard a Set Your Goals track last night off some sampler my friend had. I honestly thought it was a Drive-Thru track when it started, a-la Allister, early Starting Line, etc.... I was into it. Played that shit on repeat throughout the whole day.
