Would a 20 watt class AB amp into a 2x12 cab be loud enough for a gig?

What speakers? The efficiency of the speakers makes a HUGE difference.
Do you need to have any clean volume?
Are you miking your guitar through the PA, or do you need to get all of your volume from your amp?
How loud is your drummer, and what other amps will your band be using?

I'm planning on checking out the Jet City 2x12 whenever it's out.
Specs:
Inputs: 1×8ohm for mono or 2x 16ohm for stereo operation
Power handling: 140watts RMS mono or 70watts RMS per channel for stereo operation
Cabinetry:Multi-ply, void-free hardwood
Drivers: 2×12” Jet City Custom Eminence Drivers
Clean volume is not a necessity, but it would be a nice thing to have.
I need to get all the volume from my amp during practices.
My drummer is loud enough and my bassist doesn't have a cab yet.
I'm no genius but a bass with no amp won't be loud enough.

people sure are eating up these foreign made entry level amps from boutique amp companies left and right.

Sounds like a whole lot of hype. I'd ditch this idea and buy an amp that's earned its stripes.
If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Then I don't know what to get
There are a lot of foreign made amps out there.
Can someone guide me to the right amp? I'd like one with a great overdrive and a great clean sound.
(Favorite artists are Thrice, The Dangerous Summer, Thursday, blink-182, and Underoath--very different from each other I know)
Budget is pretty limited right now, but I don't need the amp right away.

If you mean former British colonies, then you're right... because they certainly aren't made in the UK !
(except for the handwired amps)

Any opinions on the Egnater Rebel or Renegade heads?
I read that they're made in China, but I've also read that they sound really good.

I played with a Rebel at guitar center and didn't think it was great... I really like the concepts but I wasn't impressed with the sound. I had to keep it at low volumes, and it was a busy store so who knows.
