Cool list. This was a good idea to list all of these foreign bands, it helps people (me) find new stuff. We should try and do more specific emo recs like they do on the news page every sunday. New ideas. ZING!

Oh, we should also add Standstill to the list. They're from Spain. I bought one of their albums when level-plane did that sweet 4 cds for 10 dollars deal.

I added Standstill to the Spain list. And you could pretty much "acquire" music by using Soulseek. Soulseek really shines when you're searching for obscure music such as this.

Not if it is done correctly.

and who are the judges that say if it's correct or not, someone will always be trying to question it or degrade it or say it's wrong. because there's too many bands in north america to classify. and then they are debated wether they should be in that class or not.

heyRomanticA__x
06/03/06, 09:44 AM
We are the judges. We have some really intelligent people here who know what they are talking about. Togepi, Web250, TheByrus, Utman8, BreakerBreaker, josegoesMEOWW..these guys all know their facts. It will get an active discussion going, not a heated argument or debate. Just because this task seems difficult does not mean an attempt should not be made.

you are a sad fucking individual, and if you know screamo so fucking well, why would you say something like "they sing in english, how can they be japanese"

if you knew anything about screamo you would know that a lot of foreign bands sing in english, such as:
Yage
Raein
Kaospilot
the Death of Anna Karina
to name the big ones

Nevuk
02/08/07, 08:44 PM
Of course, the obvious remark to that in any case is "Raein is singing in english?".... same goes for a lot of american bands, telling if they are singing in english can be a chore(like that spot in Kill the Switch where they speak spanish, It sounds the same as the english section, except for the monsters not being there). Since this is a foreign screamo thread, are Yage or the Death of Anna Karina any good? ... never heard of them being popular before now.

the master will come out on a split 7" with another amazing australian but sadley broken up band called Sophora, not sure if you guys have talked about them yet, but yeah...

paddington bear affair was a good band. and i wouldnt put EHRL on there. not really a screamo band at all...sure they have screamy vocals, but for the most part the band doesnt play screamo music. amazing band, nonetheless.

malaysian skramz are really really active amongst the asian scenes, with bands like kias fansuri, killeur calculateur, formatmasadepan, and daghlia to name a few. in my country though, CB is the only active band right now. *sighs*
