i bought a hartke vx 1508, it sucked dick i had to bring it back, i do have a hatke 1500 head though. ampegs are too expensive. the only one i would get is the 8x10 and its a thousand bucks, ill blow out the 4x10 too easily

The Mesa Boogie cabs sound really good, I like them. Ben Kenney from Incubus plays through them too.

Hartke is awful.
My favorite bass cabs are 610s or 810s from Mesa or Ampeg.
Are you looking at the PowerHouse series, or the RoadReady series cabs ?

You should be able to find an Ampeg 610 for around $450 or 810 for around $600 if you get it used.

aren't roadready just powehouse cabs with built in cases? thats what i assumed.
i was planning on getting an ampeg, i asked the guy who owns the studio my band is recording at about it and he said i would probably blow out an ampeg and he suggested mesa, which he is sponsored by so he can get me a deal.

Yeah, the RoadReady ones are the same, just built into flight cases. They're awesome.
Ampeg has built a wide range of cabs. I think they even had an 810 that could handle 3200 Watts RMS at one point...

Where can you buy the Mesa Boogie road ready cabs at? They don't sell them on Music123 OR Musician's Friend, and how much are the Road Ready cabs?

I'm not finding any list prices on Mesa's Site, but here (http://mesaboogie.com/US/Dealers/dlr_select_2.php)'s a link to their list of dealers.
It can be hard to find stuff this way, but I suggest always looking for used gear first. You'll usually save a ton of money that way. Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/Mesa-Boogie-Road-Ready-4x10-600W-8ohm-Bass-cab_W0QQitemZ7420393649QQcategoryZ1 21159QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZV iewItem)'s a link to an eBay auction (like this one, most bass cab auctions are for local pickup only)
P.S. You were talking about getting a 410 + a 115, right? have you ever seen the Mesa Boogie 1000 (http://mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Bass_Cabs/RoadReadyCABS/RRbass1000-LG.htm) cab?

Have you checked out any Gallien-Krueger?
They're pricy, but they sound awesome.

uhhhh, why are you blowing 4x10's??? you shouldnt if you are running the proper wattage and ohm load. if you are blowing cabs then you have no idea what you are doing.

I've never blown out a 4x10. I was told that Hartke 4x10s blow out easily and I should go with a mesa 6x10. The only cab I have ever blown was an 8 year old horizon 1x15 cab that i got extremely used and played through for 3 years. i happen to think i have a pretty good idea of what i'm doing.

I talked to the guy thats hooking me up with a mesa yesterday. he said he can get me a powehouse 6x10 for $750 and the same one roadready for $850, both those prices are about half what they charge in stores. its a great deal i think i'm gonna do it. i'll probably shell out the extra 100 and go for the roadready
