I have a 12” Alpine Type S subwoofer that has been signed by the members of New Found Glory! In 2003 Honda, Alpine, Good Charlotte and New Found Glory put together a “Nationwide Civic Tour” They gave away 12 Honda Civics and the second place prizes were 19 12” Type s Alpine subs some signed by Good Charlotte and some by NFG. This is authentic in every way!
Please send me an email and I will send you a copy of the article I found that helped me to figure out what I had after I bought it. I assure you that I have absolutely NO interest in doing ANYTHING that is unethical or deceiving! I can only vouch for what I have found on the Internet about what I found myself in possession of. I agreed to buy this subwoofer from someone who had listed it on Craigslist in St. Louis. It was listed as a 12” Alpine Type S subwoofer NEW IN BOX, never a mention of there being any writing, autographs or anything on it. Upon meeting with the lady whose husband was selling it I noticed that there was clearly some writing on it. I inspected the sub and aside from the writing there was NO other sign that it had ever even been out of the box, nevermind signs of use. It was even still in the bag that I know all Alpine equipment is packaged in. After getting it home and looking I concluded that the writing was in fact autographs of some sort. I called some people I know that are much more into music than am I and asked about some of the characteristics of the autographs and they had no clue. After a couple of hours the “NFG” hit me… New Found Glory! I went to the net and found an image of a CD inlay that the members of NFG had autographed and sure enough the autographs were an exact match!
The sub is still in the box (which has “NFG” written on the side of the box, I guess to identify it as having been signed by NFG and not Good Charlotte when the subs were in Alpine’s hands after both bands had signed their respective prizes) and has never been hooked-up and aside from the autographs is BNIB.
When I agreed to buy the sub I was looking for a subwoofer to use in the car theater that I am installing in my fiance’s car. I would much rather give someone who is a NFG fan a shot at having a great piece of memorabilia, which this is without a doubt. I do know that NFG does A LOT of meet and greets and fan interaction. You could very easily verify that they did indeed participate in the promotion with GC, Alpine, Honda and signed some number less than 19 Alpine subs and that this is one of them!
If you have any other questions please feel free to ask! I will do all that I can to answer them. Like I said tho… I am not at all a New Found Glory fan and until I had this in my hands I had no idea that there was anything such as this out there.
I sent images of the sub to a Rock n' Roll memorabilia auction company and they suggested that the item has a value of $200 - $300... Make a REASONABLE offer and let's see what we can work out! For both your protection and mine I will only accept payments via PayPal. And will even split the shipping cost with the buyer 50/50.
