First off, I love fun., so Be Calm is an enormous plus for you. The Narrative is another great band, and Copeland has MY attention, so I'm going to have to give you a 7/10 just because I'm not a fan of Oceana, and Goo Goo Dolls are too generic for me.

This mix is very interesting, and I don't even know where to start. Minus the Bear is fantastic, but not one of my favorite songs by them. I do like Coheed every so often, and NIN is as close as it can get to local, so I say 7.5/10

I guess I shouldn't have expected a fair score from someone who's favorite bands are Green Day, Yellowcard and Blink-182.
No one ever asked you to try this. I mean, it's your music, good for you that you enjoy it, and my opinion doesn't count for anything. This is just for fun, so lighten up

One of my favorite JEW songs, and I like the Fray and FoB (though neither one are my choice cuts.) The Foo Fighters are a good band, and anyone who likes the Ramones have some punk cred, so probably an 8/10

Bob Dylan is THAT iconic, and Blink is good, though an overplayed song, and Silversun has indie cred, but I HATE Lady Gaga and Lilly Allen, which is made up for with Noah and the Whale, so probably a 5.9/10

You only get ten songs with your iPod/mp3 player on shuffle. think you can impress me? I'm a fair rater, scale from 1-10 with 1 as the worst and 10 as the best. Give it your best shot!
Why should we worry about impressing you? You don't have much diversity in what you listen to in the slightest:

It's not that you don't care for Lupe Fiasco. It's that you insulted someone else for doing so. "You like Fiasco, GTFO" is an inflammatory statement and you're berating someone for their taste. In that regard, you're super lame.

I believe you're referring to this post, in which you're right, and I concede to your point.
http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=56805112#post56805 112
Reading this, and having done a little rant on the subject myself, yes, having particular taste is very unacceptable on these forums. Here is a post I made in another thread:
I will preface this pseudo-rant by confessing that I've engaged in this frequently in the past, and that I feel like a tool for doing so. The rampant amount of insults and chastising over people's taste and sincere enjoyment of particular albums is absurd. We're essentially punishing posters for being honest and conditioning them to believe they all must like certain records to stave off mocking. It's not welcoming.
Now, if a kid makes outrageous claims to the effect of "[scene band] made the best album of all-time" with an affectation of being well-versed in the medium, then they're wrong, but making fun of your fellow posters because they like certain bands/artists and place them on on their lists and speak enthusiastically about them is lame.
http://www.absolutepunk.net/showthread.php?p=56721532#post56721 532
So yeah, it's pretty lame that, by merely expressing your enjoyment of a particular band, you're ostracized.

Firstly, this is a shuffle thread. She didn't particularly choose for Brokencyde to appear on this list. Secondly, why should she be flammed simply because she enjoys a particular band you don't?

I believe you're referring to this post, in which you're right, and I concede to your point.

Reading this, and having done a little rant on the subject myself, yes, having particular taste is very unacceptable on these forums. Here is a post I made in another thread:

So yeah, it's pretty lame that, by merely expressing your enjoyment of a particular band, you're ostracized.
Firstly, this is a shuffle thread. She didn't particularly choose for Brokencyde to appear on this list. Secondly, why should she be flammed simply because she enjoys a particular band you don't?
finally, someone who understands, and considers the fact that my itunes was on shuffle, and that just because its on my itunes it doesn't mean i listen to it everyday. thank you :-)
