We all know Gore won the 2000 election, but thats all over and done with. One thing on the news today is Robert Kennedy Jr. and his accusations that Republicans somehow stole the election in 2004, mainly in Ohio. I know this has come up before on the news before but for some reason this time they are talking aobut it more. Heres the link to the long story:

I dont know if I fully believe this or not, but as an Ohio citizen who voted for Kerry, this would really anger me if it turns out to be true. I doubt we will know for sure, but you never know. Just wanted to see what other people think about this. I can already guess what some of the Bush lovers are gonna say but whatever, Im prepared.

nah. ohio was always seen as a state that could go either way. kerry did not fare as well in the midwest as he needed to win the election. i was hoping because of his great job in the debates more people would be brought over but nope.
the main place where kerry lost was in the younger voters. it is a fact that most 18-24 year olds agreed more with kerry. but only 17% of eligible young voters voted. if a much larger contingency had voted...maybe we would not be in the predicament we are in.

Hi, you do realize just because some one wins the popular vote in the state they don't automatically win the state, right?
Yes, I dislike bush too but our system isn't based off the popular opinion.

Why does everyone complain that it's stolen? The votes were the votes..that's it. I'm not a Bush fan, but he didn't steal the election.
Kerry was a better candidate than Gore was though. Gore made me nervous, at least Kerry sounded believable when he spoke in debates. Gore made everything exaggerated.

So, apparently, you know everything, you counted the votes, you were there at every ballot box, at every voting station in the country. Jesus Christ, people are so afraid to open their minds beyond what youre supposed to believe. And yes, I do realize that just because you win the popular vote does not mean you win the state. I realized that, but wasnt it basically proven that Gore ended up getting more votes in Florida?

also, when they were doing all the recounts, kerry eventually just conceded rather than drag them out forever. so it is possible that he could have won with the recounts, but we'll never know.

Yeah but I think they said he was pretty far behind. If it was really close than he surely wouldnt have conceded. I just really hope that my vote got counted, I mean, Im a college student who took the time to go and vote. But actually Im registered a Republican for some reason, I think my dad did it. So Im sure my vote got counted even though I voted for Kerry.

well since the first statement is false i guess there's really no point in reading further.....which is a shame because i was interested in reading how the big bad republicans cheated in the 04' election, even though its only democrats that have been tried and arrested so far.

while there were definite cases of voter fraud on the republican side, I'm not sure I'd want to say that they won the election because of it. maybe some people would trust voting machines with no paper trail that were created by a company who donated to the Bush campaign, maybe they don't. there's not really enough info to prove anything.
the democrats lost the election the minute they decided to run a weak candidate like Kerry.

How possibly ignorant could you be to make that claim after 3 recounts showed the same results of Bush winning?
They could ship you ever ballot from Florida and you could count them yourself, and when you counted Bush as the winner you would convince yourself you made a mistake.

Just shut the hell up. My vote did not count in NJ because of a some bull shit signature error. I voted for Bush. Move on. NJ is a Democrat state.
Everyone talks about opening up your mind, but they only want you to open up your mind to think how they want you too.
Some day people will realize that this is what politicians do...and you're going to believe something that anyone from the Kennedy family says? A Kennedy has no room to talk about anything. They made all of their money during Prohibition. They are as corrupt as the next guy...and they're Democrats. Move the fuck on.

Lets not forget too that there is proof of fraud in the 60' election that put his brother in office.....i guess corruptions only bad when you're not a kennedy.

well, as we all know, Al Gore had more popular votes than Bush. Meaning, more people voted for him. Yeah, electoral votes favored Bush, but there's a margin of error of about 50 million votes with the electoral college. I'll explain some other time.

Gore should have won. no question. and i'm not saying because Bush stole the election, but because a vice president going against a governor of the worst state in the country should have been a blow out. gore fucked up majorly, he deserved losing for being a total incompetent dumbass.

Or maybe Gore was just an idiot?
And Bill Clinton is from Arkansas...his pride and joy was taking arkansas from 50th and education to 49th. Gore is from Tennessee. Not much better.

Whether you agree with bush or not, in the 2004 election he at least stood for something. I agree that the democrats lost because Kerry was the candidate. He didn't really stand for anyone. As long as the democrats stand for nothing but anti-bush and no plan of their own, they will continue to lose. I think Americans want someone with vision. Kerry lacked that big time.

you put it perfectly.
and by the way, even if someone wins the popular vote, it is no guarantee that they'll win the electoral as well. yes, typically the electoral college follows the popular vote, but it's not a law that they have to. so there are a few cases where it may differ. it's happened in several elections in the past.
either way, we f u c ked up

but theres no way al gore, the vice president of a successful president, should have lost. why the fuck didn't he take clinton's A-team? he had shitty management, ran one of the worst campaigns in history, and lost to the governor of texas. he should've had an in and he fucking blew it. thats all i'm pointing out, so the 2000 election was not stolen. al gore deserved to lose for running such a bad campaign.

I just got the Rolling Stone and Ive read the article. Im pretty much in shock right now. Everybody should read this article, seriously. It will amaze you. And its not just opinions, its based on actual accounts of what happened that day, from people who actually witnessed it. Its based on numbers and actual evidence. No, I dont have proof. Somebody told me to open my mind? I thought Bush won fair and square, and now that I have heard otherwise, I have opened my mind to the fact that something fishy happened. Now you should do the same.
Even if you dont agree with me, take a few minutes and read some of the article. Thanks.
