Favorite album?

I think Madvillian is probably the best shit I've heard him rap on.

Any other thoughts, dude is one of the best rappers out there.

Madvillainy is a good album, but I'd have to say Doom's best shit is either on Operation: Doomsday or on Vaudeville Villain as Viktor Vaughn.

This dude can spit. Fuck the haters.

Anyone who hates him doesn't get hip hop.

I'm quite partial to Vaudeville Villain. It was the first Doom CD I ever bought and it's always held a special place in my heart. I love it.

I think Swift and Changeable will most likely be the shit, Doom is actually a pretty awesome producer.

Hah when i first bought the cd I thought the same thing, but now that i listen to it, I'm rather amazed at how much he gets in there in 2 minutes or so. Its quite a different feel than anything else.

You guys should check out his group in the 90's before he was Metal Face, they're called KMD. His name was Zev Love X back then, he changed his name after his brother who was dj in the crew died. tragedy. It's a completely different vibe. sort of brand nubian

Don't remember what it was at the time, as I redid my list plenty. Here's my final one, if you care:

01. The Avalanches- Since I Left You
02. Flying Lotus- Los Angeles
03. The National- Boxer
04. Grizzly Bear- Yellow House
05. Madvillain- Madvillainy
06. Panda Bear- Person Pitch
07. TV On The Radio- Return To Cookie Mountain
08. Fuck Buttons- Tarot Sport
09. Joanna Newsom- Ys
10. múm- Yesterday Was Dramatic--Today Is OK

Ys above the debut. Why?

Like the list, but was curious about the Ys choice as well.

I dunno; it's bigger, and denser, and Van Dyke Parks is a genius, and it takes a lot of balls to put out an hours worth of classical harp music on five tracks in the year 2006. And besides, 'Emily' and 'Cosmia' are two of the best songs I've ever heard. I'm just surprised that in a list of contentious picks—come on, Flying Lotus, Fuck Buttons, and múm in the top ten?—you latched onto that one.

I love the albums from all three of those artists. I guess personally, I just enjoyed MEM more than Ys. Not that I thought Ys was an inferior album, but MEM just clicked for me in a way Ys didn't. Was just curious as to why you had made that decision.

Going to repeat: Madvillainy is the shit.

No idea why I'm on here and not working on my final Philosophy paper.

That's fair. I was actually the opposite way; I took to Ys nearly immediately but had to come around to the more poppy sound of Milk-Eyed Mender.

I have a paper and a test tomorrow and another paper due friday, and yet here I am.
