The Higher (http://www.thehigher.com) has signed! We will be officially announcing the label on Monday. For now, check out this hint (http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/9868/thehigherlabelhint0pj.jpg) to see if you can figure out who the label is before we announce it!

Epitaph isn't a very good fit. Someone said Immortal which was a plausible guess and I can see them at Trustkill with the recent signing of Crash Romeo.

I'll just throw Victory Records out there (haha, I doubt it though) on the premise that people would think a label like Victory would kill the band.

Yes, very much so.

how? i went to their purevolume, and they have 0 redeeming qualities. any they might have could be found in at least 1000 other bands of a similar genre. i saw histrionics in a store for 3 dollars a few months ago. so glad i didn't waste my money.

epitaph makes sense. they've gone on a kick of signing terrible bands on the premise that they are bigger cash cows than epitaph's old roster of melodic punk bands.

shes.a.ghost

"How?"

That's like me asking "How do you like the color blue?" or "How do you like playing golf?", I think they're good and I like their sound, what else needs to be said? I don't care if they're cliche or if they sound like Ryan Cabrera, if I like them, then I like them. And quite frankly, I don't care what you spend your money on, nor do I care what you think of Epitaph's current state.

you changed it from bbmak to ryan cabrera. why? hahaha

I don't understand why people think it's a bad choice to go to Epitaph. They definetely have the resources to promote their bands and most of their bands do pretty well. I mean, Epitaph managed to make From First To Last into a hit and they barely make music. On a note to a more similar band, Motion City Soundtrack also seem to be doing well with them.

not saying it's a bad move on The Higher's part, just a bad move on Epitaph's part.

Epitaph has already gone down the shitter and there is no need to add to it with this garbage

because the whole "the higher is dead" could be a reference to them becoming label mates with refuse, seeing as refused current release is "refused are fucking dead"

burning heart records which is a dvision of epitaph

As someone said before, Burning Heart is a label on its own. Epitaph just release their CDs in the US. In Europe they release Millencolin, etc. under the Burning Heart logo.

I'm not sure if Epitaph is a good choice for them. They got so many bands and it's possible to just get kinda overlooked. FBR or manybe Vagrant would have been better...
