This past Friday Off By One (http://www.offbyoneonline.com) played at Emo's here in Austin. Last month, the schmo's at SxSW canceled the OB1 show. So I had to wait another month to see 'em!
The much anticipated show was everything I would have expected from a group of clearly talented guys touring to promote thier debut self-titled album.
Working the crowd like motivational speaker Tony Robbins, lead singer Marc Gould, had the entire audience jumping and singing to such great songs, like "On My Way", "Highschool" and "Cinderella". It was nice to see that audience participation is important to these guys, as Marc spent a good amount of time leaning into the crowd to give audience members their moment in the spotlight. (Editor's Note: Most of us shouldn't have been singing! :D )
After the show, I went up and talked to the guys. Even after 45 minutes of rocking out, they couldn't have been more happy to just hang out and talk.
If you get a chance, go see these guys before they blow up! They're still touring the US now.
