thursday, last thursday night was... amazing. they beat out the get up kids for best show i've seen. honestly, not to sound like a douche, but damn, they were so fucking good. I've seen them four times, and this was by far the best, even though they are amazing every time i see them. they opened with a new song, which sounded really tight and good. the other new song they played i really liked. i forget what it was called, but geoff said it was kind of like a sequel to jet black new year, the morning after and what it feels like. it had piano in it, and i really couldn't be more excited for the new album. all of the other songs were played so great and with such energy. mid-set, geoff puked, and wasn't feeling well he took a second to recoup and went right into cross out the eyes and did a very good job of it, actually. when they ended, the crowd shouted for an encore, and they came back, and geoff said that he was sick so they ended early, but what the hell, they were gonna play some more. they played this side of brightness and then autobiography of a nation (after a little talk about war/people in the world all being the same). i have such respect for geoff rickly. he's so laid back, and yet so intense. i'll stop and just say it was the best live show i've ever seen.
