alexander hamilton pretty much ran his presidency. for my money, adams and jefferson were both better presidents immediately afterwards (even though adams gets a bad rap), as well as several other presidents.

this is some old story i heard in US history.

supposedly, in one battle of the french and indian war, a native american chief told his warriors to shoot at all the generals on the opposing side. all were killed but one, george washington. then the chief told his men to shoot and washington in particular. two bullets went through his uniform. he had two horses shot out from under him, only to jump on the horses of other fallen generals. after that, the native americans decided not to shoot at him because they believed he was blessed. one brave reportedly shot 17 shots at him from under 20 yards away, and couldn't hit him.

it's because george washington was a god and could choose when he wanted to pass to the afterlife.

How the heck is Washington not winning this! Has anyone here actually read history? Lincoln was a great president, don't get me wrong, but if it weren't for Washington, the United States may have never been founded. He could have been king if he wanted to, but to give the power to the people he stepped down as commander of the continental army (unlike Napoleon). His retirement was brief since he was elected as the first president 5 years later. Washington is the only president to ever receive 100% of the electoral votes! Now that's a leader!
