Corporate CEOs deserve bonuses. The position they are in and their responsibilities warrant such bonuses. They have decent salaries but depend on the end-of-the-year bonuses for their well being. I'm pursuing an MBA in hopes of achieving such wealth. Also, it's only a matter of time until we have another George W. Bush to be president to grant tax cuts for people like me.

Corporate CEOs deserve bonuses...only if their job performance reflects such.

The position they are in and their responsibilities (don't automatically) warrant such bonuses, they should be in correlation to profit.

They have higher than average salaries and shouldn't need to rely on the end-of-the-year bonuses for their well being

I'm pursuing an MBA in hopes of achieving such wealth...if you make good business decisions, you should achieve such wealth. If you don't, you shouldn't.

Not even going to offer my opinion on that last statement :)

They don't deserve bonuses. The workers deserve the bonus.

Well I partially agree with that statement. Corporate Ceos should get bonuses, but I think they shouldnt get gigantic bonuses. I mean there are some CEOs who may rake in a 2 million dollar base salary and outrageous bonuses in the tens of millions of dollars or even higher (that to me is simply ridiculous). But, the workers at the lower part of the pyramids deserve bonuses as well, its a shame that most boards don't see it that way.

They deserve bonuses when the company performs well, not when it tanks. Also, the bonuses should be reasonable. Don't need a 70 million dollar bonus (unless the company made an unexpected $3 billion or something).

The bonuses should really be distributed to the actual laborers themselves, who without they would never have anything to sell for profit in the first place.

They probably don't need the bonuses, but if they are agreed to in a contract with the shareholders, the bonus is due to them regardless of how the executive performs.

I don't really know what corporate CEO's do. I just assume they sit in their office and count their money all day. Obviously, if this is the truth, then the bonuses are a good idea. How can they do their job if they have no new money to count? I mean, the workers will have to sacrifice a little bit of their income and benefits, but it's worth it. And I do believe (I'm assuming again) that when a CEO has no money to count and gets bored, he will typically start firing and laying off employees, and probably starts making those sexual advances on his secretary as well. These bonuses are essential to our nation's economy.
