Saetia

I'm hoping to find some good bands in this thread too. I never seem to like what people recommend me when I say I like Trophy Scars or La Dispute. There's just nothing that's super similar. At least not to me.

i've heard a lot about saetia and most of my friends love them, but i kinda pegged them as one those super emotional emo bands, but much less complex and technical than la dispute. is that wrong?

La Dispute is a really good band.

Those people talking about Saetia and Hot Cross are pretty on the dot, but there are a lot of good European bands people are missing.

Daitro is a really good one.

Another American band would be The Kidcrash. They're really good. If you like some of that kind of post-hardcore mixed with some post-rock elements, 'I Would Set Myself On Fire For You' is a good band to check out also.

Somewhere at the Bottom of the River Between Vega and Altair is an enjoyable record.

Do you care for I Would Set Myself on Fire for You? They're keen. Check out the album Believes in Patterns.

...or I could learn to read the entirety of a thread before making suggestions like I'm the only one to think of it.

I think so, yes. I think they're damn good musically. Not as complex as La Dispute but I think they're close.

Some of these are more hardcore influences, but I could see any fan of La Dispute enjoying these bands:

Pianos Become The Teeth
Elder
Kidcrash
...Who Calls So Loud
Trainwreck
Native
Touche Amore
Daitro
Loma Prieta

There's a cool band called Lifestory Monologue that you would probably be interested in although they certainly are a tad different then La Dispute, it's really good stuff.

That's pretty much what they're like. But the vocals, both spoken and yelling, are pretty similar.

And here's a few more to add to my previous list: Sinaloa (especially if you like mewithoutYou), ...Who Calls So Loud, Kane Hodder (not super similar musically, but if you like the whole unique vocals and yells aspect of La Dispute, you might like this), Victor! Fix The Sun, and Mutiny On The Bounty.
