nothing like 7 innings of slap bunts and slow running

Yea, what the fuck is up with the slapbunting. Stay in the goddam batters box, and swing the bat!

not to mention outfielders that clearly can't read a ball off the bat or what angle they should take to retrieve the ball when it hits the wall, which by the way, is like 8 feet from home plate, while the mounds like 3. can we make the fields bigger? You know, not something that is the same size for 14 year old girls to play softball on? christ. they're 18-22 years old. if they can't throw from 45 feet and be effective then they shouldn't be playing. it's ridiculous.

I would like to see a little league world series team take on a division I softball team.

by the way, is the same field? it sure looks like what i played on when i was 7.

the game is dominated by pitching, it is not fun to always watch a 1-0 nothing game.

I also hate that they treat every run like a walk-off home run.

college softball = lamesauce

little league world series team would be destroyed. seriously.
1. it's a bigger ball.
2. they throw more different type of pitches. instead of fastball/breaking ball/ and possibly a change up, in softball they throw a rise ball, fast ball, change up, curve ball, drop ball, and like sideways horizontal diagonal ball or something ridiculous. they throw alot of different pitches. Not to mention it's under hand and the kids would need like 7 innings just to get used to the release point.
3. it's 18-22 year old girls vs. 12-13 year old little boys. no way.

that said, i think the field is basically the same, just minus a raised mound and infield grass.

The fence is like 20 feet longer than a little league field, I believe. My girlfriend is like 27th all time in NCAA history for hits in a season (88) and batting average (.409), and that was all in her freshman year last year at Northwestern....but she stopped playing and came home, and now you get to see the new shortstop, some troll-looking girl on TV. They've actually mentioned her a few times, saying that the new shortstop is filling a big void in NU's lineup. I've already started like two threads about my girlfriend's dominance in the softball world, and some guy always gets mad at me for bragging about her haha. Whatevs. She was awesome. As far as the guys who think it's ridiculous how bad they are, here are my thoughts... I don't know why, but it seems that girls just really suck at outfielding, and they hate to dive. It might have to do with their breasts, to be honest, and also maybe they don't have as much adrenaline or something. I always used to tease my girlfriend about how I could beat her and make all the plays she didn't, which is pretty much true granted I am a very good baseball player. Guys are just bigger and capable of more things physically. I haven't hit competitively in a few years, but I told her that I would be able to hit easily if I practiced for a bit. All of my ribbing kinda pissed her off. One day we got out her softball pitching machine and she turned it up all the way and I hit from the same distance they pitch. I didn't have any problem getting around on the balls in the zone and smacking liners. So when I hear about how Jenny Finch struck out Dmitry Young I laugh and think about how if she pitched to him over the course of a season he would probably hit a ton of homers.

I don't even care that they don't dive. but they take bad routes towards the line drives and just make way too many errors on things that they shouldn't be making errors for. Maybe i'm over estimating their ability, but they are being give free schooling do play softball and half the time it looks like, aside from the pitcher, you could fill in with a 40 year old beer league team and they'd field better than them.

I think you are. You just have to think of it like this: These are the best girls in the country at this game, and if you compare them to other softball players, they are great. It's the same reason nobody watches the WNBA.

probably. i just find it pretty unwatchable. it'd take extreme circumstances to make me tune in. Like last year, nothing else on tv, relax at home and an in-state university with the chance to be the first team from east of the mississippi to win it all. It's so unbearable with the tons of strike outs, bad fielding, worse hitting, and those fucking chants that scream over your tv set. makes me want to clean my ears with an ice pick.

Hahaha I agree. The only reason I've been watching is because I've met a lot of the girls at Northwestern and I want to see if they talk about my girlfriend.
