I took the PSATS last October, I got a 980, which is an improvment from the year before when I only got a 920. But since I'm only a sophomore, I'm going to have to study a lot because next year I get to take the PSATS, and maybe the SAT. I must remember to make my calculator cheat sheet for the math part.

At least most of you guys don't have to take the Regents. They are really hard, and are required if you want to make it into the next grade. So I'm going to end up in summer school for Math A (it would be the 2nd time I will fail it) and chemistry.

Hahahha. I got a 98 on the Math A. Easiest test I ever took. When I took the Sat's in 7th i got a 1190 i think. Not too shabby if you ask me.

I hate to be the Saved by the Bell nerd here but Zach Morris got like a 1510, not a 1600.

And back in reality, whoever tells you SATs don't measure at least SOME aspect of intelligence probably didn't get a very high score on their own test.

Granted, I know smart people who didn't get very high scores, but knowing your times tables, proper english grammar, knowing how to read...hmmmm that could help a little bit.

But I did get an 86 on the Living Enviornment one. Global I have nothing to worry about, because that is my best subject.

GPA means a lot actually because that shows how well you actually do in your classes.. colleges look at both GPA and SAT scores.. i know someone who is very smart that is bad at taking tests but has a great GPA.. gpa shows what a person can really amount to not some bullshit SAT where its all about not actually reading your selections. and you really shouldnt brag so much it just makes you look worse especially when you only did ten points better than him

this is what frustrates me. you are all so fucking wrong. first off you have your career choice in high school? bull shit. when youre in college most people change their major a few times. so throw that fucking argument out the window.

and most teachers work every hard. i hahve honestly has maybe three teachers ever who did not try or didnt go a good job teaching. the problem is you. so many people sit in class and just ignore the teacher or make no effort. (that is if you arent to busy causing disruptions so the handful of kids that are actually paying attention and participating cant concentrate.) and dont tell me that you arent like that. think about your classes, how many kids in all of your classes total do their work, behave in class, and respect the teacher? thats a small number. you are only goign to get out of your education whatever you put into it.

and there is more to high school than trigonometry and greek literature. maybe the facts you learn in school might not pertain to whatever you end up doign with your life, but its still important. there are lots of things you learn in school that you wouldnt learn on your own liek how to work well in groups, social skills, critical thinking skills, responsibility, and respect. and if you ever want to get somewhere in life you better have a good hold on those skills. becuase in a few years chances are your mommy and daddy wont be letting you live with them and not work for free. you are goign to be on your own, and believe it or not, high school prepares you for that.

actually you are very wrong about me.. you do have some good points but none of which pertain to me.. maybe if you walked in my shoes and saw what my high school was like and my bullshit teachers were like then you would understand.. all my teachers care about is their salary, they wont even allow teachers to stay afterschool for extra help anymore? thats pretty horrible if you ask me. the problem is definatley not me because i have an 90 average. and thats pretty good for me, im the kind of person that has to work hard for their grades. im in a few advanced classes and fooling around? right

also i learned social skills, respect, and responsibility on my own. you dont need a teacher for that.

one more point, i work non-stop and i pay for my own meals and im barely ever home to even get the chance to ask my "mommy and daddy" for money. and i cant wait until im on my own. then i can be completely "responsible" for my own life and family

if they cared that much about their salary they wouldnt be teachers. and i nkow that public school teachers can be shit sometimes but if you do your share they will do theirs. even if you do ahve bad teachers you can do it on you own, you shoudlnt blame them for your grades.

and yes, even in advanced classes there are people that fuck around. i have only been in honors and ap classes, so im only speaking fromt hat experience. im not talking about the common moron classes with the kids that ditch all the time. im talking about people liek you.

and good for you that you work now. but you still coudlnt support yourself well right now. and a lot of it has to do with age. no matter how smart you are and how worthless school may be for you, it doesnt matter. becuase another thing that you gain during high school is maturity. that comes with experieneces you have and age. so just acceopt the fact that school is an important part of growing up and chill out.

First off I never said I was a "smart guy" actually in other threads I have said I am not that smart. But I thank you for calling me smart that was pretty nice of you. The whole pill thing it is probably written on the bottle unless you are the pharmicist. At least when I took medicine it always said on the bottle take one every four hours or something like that.

no dipshit. neither of them guage how smart someone is, SAT shows how good you are at taking tests, and GPA shows how motivated you are to actually do the work. the only think that i think really shows how smart someone is, is creative physical problem solving, where you put a person/group in a situation, and give them a goal, and they have to figure out how to reach it.

well for people that actually put an effort in it shows how smart you are.. but i know what you mean. there are a lot of smart people that have horrible GPA's it goes both ways.
