yeah i agree, the series lost a lot of steam with the death of donald pleasant.

the fact is this film was already in pre production with mustaffa akad died as the result of a suicide bombing a few months back. there are still many many great story lines to work out, and im hoping rob zombie will do it justice. i think he has the utmost ability to do it. as someone who hopes to do film later in life, i would love to do my own halloween, ive always viewed it as the strongest running horror film franchise. alhtough the last one was terrible i think h20 grew on me slightly.

hope he doesnt go to over the top with it though, and i hope he gets it out asap

i heard at the end of halloween 6 there was supposed to be a huge fight between meyers and loomis but loomis died while the film was being shot, hence the shot of the house with a sound clip of him screaming at the end which is a very shitty ending.

He died after it was completed.

The film/ending sucked because the studio took over control of it from the producer. Check out the Producers cut which has a more complete ending.

Oh God,

Pros
Rob Zombie

Cons
Another Halloween movie? Somebody oughta just kill Michael Myers once and for all.

isn't this gonna be like a remake/retelling?

i thought i'd read that it was gonna be his rendition of the origin. so, not so much a ninth installment, but a start over?

i could be wrong, but i swore i'd read that somewhere.

Am I the only one who thought Rob Zombie's two previous films were just awful.

Hopefully he doeesn't use the F word 500 plus times. The guy needs some new dialogue for his films.

house of 1,000 corpses was pretty fucking terrible. it was a ripoff of fucking texas chainsaw massacre.

but devil's rejects wasn't nearly as fucking bad. it was prettty fucking enjoyable for what it was.

i always thought the halloween's were fucking lame, but i'm interested to see what this fucker will do with it.

Wow. Original. You should be writing horror films!!!

Corpes was awful. One of the worst "horror" films I've ever seen. Rejects was better yes, but the dialogue is inane and literally 64% of the words used in the film are "fuck". I think it holds the record for most f-words in a film.

Eli Roth uses it a ton too but it never reaches the level Zombie has showcased. Plus with Eli Roth, you are looking at a writer/director that is literally 300 times better than Zombie is, or will ever be.

Ha. Well what horror films do you like. I am in love with good 70's 80's horror films. Some new ones, especially by Alexandre Aja and Eli Roth.

Aja especially is probably the next big thing. I said Eli was when Cabin Fever came out and he did Hostel which proved my point.

ehh eli is alrite. i enjoyed cabin fever. its hard to say, i jus tthink that the halloween films or sequels rather have been consistently not as bad as all the other franchises. i love the idea of micheal myers and i look forward to anything they can bring new to the table. in theory, all horror movies are terrible for several reasons, but i watch them for pure entertainment purposes. as fucked up as both those zombie films were, i enjoyed them and was weirded out by them. atleast with the halloween story line there zombie will be held back to a stricter lens and i think it will showcase a little morepotential now that he has a better foundation. we will see. ive been waiting a while

This could be cool. I would rather see something completely new from Rob Zombie though. I thought House of 1,000 Corpses was pretty good and I LOVED The Devil's Rejects. I think we will see some good things from him in the future.

i don't have a problem with the halloween films for sure. i liked H2O a lot in fact.

I just dont want to see Zombie literally filth up the franchise.

He does have a good style though.

Halloween movies were never meant to be super gory. I mean I know only the first one held true to that sentiment but I will be livid if Mr. Zombie dumps 8,000 gallons of blood into a Halloween film. They are supposed to be suspenseful....or something.

H1 is one of my all-time favorite movies and I really enjoyed H2. 4 was decent, 5 was awful, and 6 just got too fucked up for its own good. I honestly like H20 despite it being geared for the Scream audience. Resurrection we do not speak of.
