It's WORSE than I guessed.
Carlos Beltran is leading the votes for Outfielders and Paul LoDuca is leading for NL Catcher in the Allstar.

Both in second.

Carlos Beltran is leading the votes for Outfielders and Paul LoDuca is leading for NL Catcher in the Allstar.
LoDuca should be leading, he is batting .300 (second best on the team) and he is a leader. Beltran is obviously aided in the voting because of some overzealous new york fans.
An interesting position will be third baseman for the national league: scott rolen, miguel cabrera, and david wright. They have three of the top 5 averages in the NL.
Wright is carrying the mets right now, cabrera is hitting great but he plays for a horrible team, and rolen is now the force behind the cards now that pujols is out. You cant go wrong with any one of them.
EDIT:
I just realized that freddy sanchez is batting .345 for the pirates. So 4 of the top 5 averages are third basemen.

batting .300 makes you an all star now? please.
johnny estrada and brian mccann both deserve it more

ok, i explained to you why loduca should get it. He is batting very well and he is the teams emotional leader. Now please tell me why the two people you mentioned should get it.
Also, when loduca catches, his pitchers have a 3.50 era, that's the lowest out of starting catchers. And before you say it's because of the met's pitching staff, the met's backup ramon castro has like a 4.83 cera.

yeah its bullshit, sanchez should definitely be on there hitting .350 and bay knocked in his 47th RBI tonight. in other news they shouldve canceled every fucking game against the padres this weekend. i went friday and it was sprinkling, so they delayed the game 2 hours. when it finally started it decided to pour and they kept playing.

LoDuca deserves it, but I really like McCann and Estrada. Either way, as long as one of them 3 makes it I'm happy.

Are you kidding me? Where's the category on the ballets that says "Emotional Leader". That's got nothing to do with the all-star game. it is, and should be, based on stats. on who is best at each position. And Lo Duca is NOT the best catcher in the NL based solely on numbers.

he's deserving but there's no way at all he makes the all-star team. if the Pirates were in 1st place it'd be different, as i could see them getting more than one all star, but it's just not going to happen.
David Wright should start the all-star game at 3rd.

He was named player of the month. First time since Bonds in September 1992.
Also, Jose Castillo was named player of the week. Third Pirate in a row.

Actually, it is has alot to do with the pitchers. Most of the time, Castro catches for Tracshel (sp?) and the #5 pitcher.
From a catcher's standpoint, he only throws out 25% of the runners that steal on him. Next to Michael Barrett, Lo Duca has given up the 2nd most SBs (39) and only thrown out 13.
Also, with the whole games played situation with McCann...Lo Duca has only played 48 to Mccann's 38 Started and 43 played.
Mccann throws out 46% of the runners and Estrada only throws out 29%.

Beltran deserves it by the #'s. batting .300 18 hrs 53 rbis and .408 obp, 12 sbs he shouldn't however because he got to play last year, but he deserves it this year. Not bad #s for your 3 hitter.
Holliday or Bay....and Soriano should be the others.
