Rik Smits when i was real young. I was sitting at the bar at a Steak N' Shake while my parents paid for our meal and he came in and sat next to me. A few months ago I hung out with Enter Shikari for a few hours after a show and i've met tons of other bands and band members. Anthony Raneri, NFG, Max Bemis, Johnny Craig, Josh Scogin, P.O.S., Dallas Green, the ETID Buckley brothers, Howard and Adam from KSE. idk if you'd consider them famous, but they're some of my personal heroes and idols so i might as well have been meeting Oprah.

I met Mark Martin (Nascar driver) when I was like 5, maybe 4. I just remembered it was a Reese's sponsored thing, so I was pretty stoked.
First one I met and actually knew everything that was happening, I think it was the Hawthorne Heights guys at Warped Tour 05.
I also walked next to Travis for probably 45 seconds at the very back of the venue, I just thought it was another kid with a Mohawk, then I just saw out of the corner of my eye him walking behind the gate and into the bus parking lot. I was really pissed I didn't look around more.

I met Anthony Green and Kenny Vasoli the same night of the tour they did together back when Avalon first came out. Anthony's brother was my social worker at my school for a while, and he introduced the two of us briefly. Kenny was all polite, asking me my name before introducing himself and shaking my hand. What a gentlemen that guy was.
My friend got to sing Fat Lip with Sum 41 during a sound check.
Also Cove from Saosin gave me a hug.

i found them on the pirate bay. granted if they were available i would buy them as i did the first three seasons, but dvd sales were down for those seasons which is why the other seasons (when it started getting really good) weren't released. the quality is decent but they are all tv rips so it says disney or abc family on it and half the time it shows on the bottom of the screen abc family 25 days of christmas or halloween specials or harry potter marathons or something.....lionsgate actually purchased the rights to the series in the summer of 2008 so hopefully they will do something about releasing the missing seasons. i was really excited when i heard that someone new purchased it but when a year passed and nothing happened i gave in and downloaded the episodes....they are just something everyone needs to learn from which is why i had to steal it since it wasnt available anywhere and not even on tv anymore.

Mannn. I dont even remember the first musician I met that wasnt a local band. Maybe Mike Shinoda (from Linkin Park), Ryu Tak and Cheapshot (from Styles of Beyond), BoBo (Cypress Hill), Holly Brook and the drummer Beatdown from the FORT MINOR tour

I doubt this even counts, but in like sixth grade, I knew JoJo because she was my best friend's cousin. I wasn't even really that big on her music, and she was kind of a bitch, but it was cool. Yep.
As in Joanna Levesque??
I loved her when I was in, like, the fifth or sixth grade. Haha.

How extremely random that two Asheville-dwellers would appear in the same thread...
Kinda rare on this site, haha

Thank god. I was beginning to think there was some sort of conspiracy, haha...
I'm not usually paranoid but everytime I turned around, someone I knew had some connection to him, it was getting a little creepy. XD

Andrew McMahon in 7th grade. Something Corporate/The Rocket Summer tour. Still to this day one of the best nights of my life.
Oh, and I took "the walk" with Hanson. I met all three of them. Such genuinely nice guys, and so chill. They actually went out of their way to meet/talk with fans while walking, rather than staying at the front.

First famous person I met is Kat Corbett, I guess. I met her at KROQ's Almost Acoustic Christmas '08.
As for first famous musician, Max Bemis at Guitar Center's Warped Sessions. I also met Brett Gurewitz, Joe escalante, Philip Sneed, and Tom DeLonge the same night. He seemed genuiely pleased when I told him his music has helped me a lot.
I had a moment where I could have met Kenny Vasoli. He was outside the Wiltern talking to a roadie before Paramore's Riot! tour. His back was toward us, so my friend and I didn't want to call to him and find out it wasn't him. One of the most annoying regrets we still have. Especially when he said "Don't be afraid to talk to us" onstage.

Frankie Muniz. He was at the Brand New show last month actually. I didn't have the chance to talk to him because he kinda disappeared but still it was cool haha. He's tiny in person.
Also I had the chance to meet Casey Crescenzo while he was still in TREOS. That was rad.

oh my gosh. boy meets world is my all time favorite show, where did you find those torrents!? are they good quality!?
i found them on the pirate bay. granted if they were available i would buy them as i did the first three seasons, but dvd sales were down for those seasons which is why the other seasons (when it started getting really good) weren't released. the quality is decent but they are all tv rips so it says disney or abc family on it and half the time it shows on the bottom of the screen abc family 25 days of christmas or halloween specials or harry potter marathons or something.....lionsgate actually purchased the rights to the series in the summer of 2008 so hopefully they will do something about releasing the missing seasons. i was really excited when i heard that someone new purchased it but when a year passed and nothing happened i gave in and downloaded the episodes....they are just something everyone needs to learn from which is why i had to steal it since it wasnt available anywhere and not even on tv anymore.
I did the same thing...but I'm missing 4 episodes from season 5...damn.
someone from the official thread posted a site that sells all the dvds. obviously it's not the official ones. it's pretty much just the episodes, but no special features or whatever. i think it was something like $35 for all 8 seasons.
i can't find the site right now, but i will find it! i wanna buy it too!

First person would be Casey Crescenzo from The Dear Hunter who got me into one of their shows for free.
Probably the one that means the most is meeting and talking to everyone in Fear Before a few times and even some past members (I met their ex-drummer at a Portugal. The Man in store). Met all of Portugal except their drummer later that night too.
And another time, my band played a house show with Native and they hung out with us before the show and spent the night with us, that was rad.
Other than that, I've met tons of bands by just going up to them if they're hanging out in the venue or if they're selling merch. I felt awesome when I bought like $70 worth of vinyl from one of Pelican's guitarists. I could tell that he really appreciated it.

Kenny Vasoli after the BBQ Across America tour :-)
I'm such a TSL fangirl... I was so starstruck I nearly died. It was so embarassing.
Then I met Ace afterward and he acted like an ass to me
Really? Ace was really nice all 3 or 4 times I've met him. That's weird. He's kinda shy. Maybe that was it?
I briefly spoke with Alex and Will from illScarlett four years ago.
Other than that, the only other bands I've met are Faber Drive and Marianas Trench. FD guys were aight but slightly douchey, but everyone in MT is ridiculously cool.

John Nolan.
Really? Ace was really nice all 3 or 4 times I've met him. That's weird. He's kinda shy. Maybe that was it? Nah.
I think I've figured out why though - it was right after the show was over, and I couldn't muster up enough courage to go up to him and tell him how much TEN meant to me/how great the concert was... so my really pushy, overly outgoing, social-cues-ignoring friend basically pushed me into him and just blabbed on and on about how great he was (insincerely though - she was there only for School Boy Humor, hadn't even heard of Ace before. she's since been educated.) Then she made us take a picture, since she knew how badly I was looking forward to meeting him... Overall, she made me look bad. Like one of those giggling fangirl types. (Which I sort of am... but I like to think I do it with more grace, haha.)
I was trying to communicate to him with my eyes since she wouldn't shut up but it was dark so he couldn't see them.
Still, I think he should have had more patience with us as fans, and more understanding... I'm sure most people have had that kind of experience before, hanging around with a clueless friend. I'd give anything to do it over again, both with him and with Kenny, so I could force the words "your music means the world to me" out of my lips.
Ah well. There's always the next tour! (hopefully)
