It's only June and I am so fucking excited. Discuss whatever, be it summer workouts, recruiting, post-spring polls, or the Nebraska Cornhukers, poised for a return to national dominance!

notre dame and ohio state go undefeated and meet for the championship.

buckeyes win of course.

and heisman comes down to troy smith or brady quinn, with quinn winning.

barring injuries of course.

yeah, um, let's just wait until august. no need to talk about it now with baseball, stanley cup finals, nba finals, and world cup (if you like soccer) going on.

06/06/06, 05:57 PM
Notre Dame wins the National Championship, Nebraska makes a good run but can't win the Big 12 and end up in a second-tier bowl. USC begins a slow slip, loses at least 2 games. Oregon makes some noise in the Pac 10. Michigan State moves up the Big 10 ladder, while Ohio State wins the confrence. Navy is, once again, a surprisingly good team. Oklahoma wins at least 9 games. Michigan goes 7-5 again. BYU establishes dominance in the Mountain West. Louisville makes a BCS bowl. Texas-Vince Young=poor season. Tennessee, anybody? Better coaching leads to a better season. Alabama wins SEC. That's pretty much all I can think of right now.

you're absurd if you think michigan state makes noice in the Big 10. based on what? That stellar defense? how about those oustanding WRs? or that dominant running game? Or the fact that the offensive line is just sooooooo good?

Outside of Drew Stanton, michigan state is completely overrated.

and seeing this reminds me, no not when we lose the best WR ever to play here, and Tony Scheffler at TE is gone as well. We have no deep threats, no TE's and are pretty young again.

Yeah make the official thread in June, good job.

Notre Dame is winning it all. We aren't tied for the most in NCAA history with 12 for nothing. And I'm not a bandwagon fan either, I was born bleeding blue and gold. Nuff said.

Ohio State wins it all. Or Notre Dame. Shit. Oklahoma and Nebraska square off for the Big 12 crown in December. USC's inexperience and lack of depth at quarterback and running back make for a much less potent offense and nets them at least 2 losses (including one against Nebraska). Arkansas' Adrian McFadden becomes one of the best backs in college football. Florida somehow struggles to find their A game and cannot win the SEC (LSU and Georgia will be too good) and freshman quarterback Tim Tebow shows flashes of invincibility late in the season. Oklahoma will beat Texas and win the Big 12 South.

And I am very biased but the Nebraska Huskers are the sleeper team this year. They will finally get the respect they deserve when they knock of USC in September and will boast one of the nation's best (if not the absolute best) defense, that is way too fast and way too deep to lose more than 2-3 games. Quarterback Zac Taylor may be the best quarterback in the Big 12. 2005's star studded recruiting class really begins to shine. Marlon Lucky and Cody Glenn will give defensive coordinators headaches. If this team stays healthy (namely at the quarterback position) then there is no reason why they shouldn't have a legitimate shot at the Big 12 title.

yeah because USC inexperience at QB behind Carson Palmer really hurt them.
How is florida "not find it's A Game" the reason they don't win the SEC? Let's just call it like it is; They're not the best team in the SEC. maybe their division, but not the entire conference. Big 12 North > Big 12 South.

Uconn all the way, National Champions. Terry Caulley is fully healed from injury and has a monster year ;eading the rushing attack and the Hernandez brothers lead the air attack. QB D.J. Hernandez leads the nation in passing and his brother Aaron (the number 1 ranked TE recruit in the country) leads in touchdowns. Wait, whats that, Aaron backed out of his agreement of coming to Uconn and chose Florida? Damn, maybe next year

i couldn't really do anything when i played football. i missed out on a lot in high school because i was so balls out. i wasn't the most athletically gifted, so i spent a ton of time on film and studying opponents on my own time. that, along with my personal workouts and practices took up too much time. plus, i was 18 living in my own apartment, so i was working full time to pay my bills, and still trying not to flunk out so i'd still be eligible to play.

Rutgers has one of the best offenses in the country, but Schiano really hasn't done shit in his tenure to improve the defense. They just signed him to a big extension, so I think he'll be around for a while.

The Big East apparently thinks they're going to be good this year though, and the Big East isn't exactly the toughest of the BCS conferences. The conference doesn't have a championship game, but they try to schedule a game on championship weekend between the two teams they expect to be the best that year. This years game: Rutgers at WVA. I'm not expecting a BCS appearence (I'll take another bowl appearance period after all the years of futility), but it's good to see some life from this program.

QB.
when he was recruited he was the #44th QB in the nation and this was in his bio: "I have quick feet and I have a great knowledge of the game. I'm a leader and play hard all the time. I want to improve everything. I want to improve my arm strength and learn more about the game."

his junior year of high school stats:
JR Stats: 2100 yds passing/23 TDs/7 picks; 200 yds rushing

so he could be good.

BC wins the ACC title, led by Brian Toal, who leads the NCAA in sacks. L.V Whitworth also runs for 1500 yards.

not really, but i can dream. we'll definitely be in contention, although getting past FSU is going to be tough. For what it's worth, I consider Clemson to be extremely overrated in preseason polls (which have them as high as #10). I think it'll come down to the Seminoles, Canes, and Eagles.

as for the national title, I like Oklahoma to rebound from a down year. They aren't getting much love here but I think Peterson bounces back in a big way, and the success of the team is obviously contingent upon that happening. ND has an excellent squad too, but I can't bring myself to pick the Irish.

The winner of the LSU-Auburn game I think will be 1/2 of the championship. Ohio State lost a lot of starters on defense, and I think that will ultimately hurt them. Notre Dame will not make it, they have a tough schedule I think and will blow it. I think Miami has a chance, simply because they have a very favorable schedule at home. If I had to pick though, based on what I have observed, I think it will be Auburn as one of the finalists. Other contenders could be West Virginia, OSU, ND, and honestly, USC has a very favorable schedule as welll, so we will see.

Also, I go to the University of Florida, but am not really a fan of the team. But I would like to say if their schedule was not as hard as it is next year, they may be playing for the title. Their schedule is almost impossible to come out of undefeated next year.

Ok...with all the people bitching about those wanting to talk football...why is it okay to talk about baseball year round, but not football? Yes, baseball has a longer season and there is less time in the offseason, but still....please tell me. Some people like to talk about football, a lot. We talk about football everyday at work. Some people like to talk about baseball. They talk about baseball everyday at work. I personally don't like baseball, but I don't bitch when others talk about it.
