Ok guys, so this is the Official Brand New Chat Thread #15, where you can share your love (or otherwise) of the band. Brand New recently released their newest album Daisy on September 22, and they are currently on a US tour supporting the album.

Fuckin' awesome! Ahah, Kenny is the man. I listened to his old band, Hand Me Down Buick's full length, which was recorded when he was 20 (he's 23 now, I believe), and he sounded sooo much younger. It's funny how voices change. What's also funny is how he smokes like a fiend.

I have very specific traits I'd like in a girl, and for both her sake and mine I can't compromise most of those. (This isn't to say that girls aren't "good enough," but they just don't fit what I'd like in my life.) Sadly, my one friend who does fit everything I'd want perfectly and more is way out of my league. As if that weren't enough, I hate the whole "dating" game because I don't like viewing girls as prizes to be "won." All the weird politics that go into those social titles of "girlfriend" and "boyfriend" just completely ruin the beauty of a good relationship for me.

Well, the number one requirement I have, and probably the only one I can really put into words, is that she must love the L-rd with all her heart. I decided long ago that I want my faith in Christ to always be number one in my life, and there's no way I can give someone as much of me as a "significant other" deserves unless she has that same goal. My beliefs are just too significant a part of my life to compromise for a girl. Trying to have a relationship with some who can't share that with me would be unfair both to her and to me.

Beyond that, I guess everything else is fairly undefined and hard to judge outside of, "Yeah, you're the one," or, "Nope, won't work." Maybe the best way to summarize it would be that we get along and work well together. This might seem kinda silly and obvious, but too many people ignore seemingly "insignificant" details in the name of "romance" only have things fall apart. I don't expect a girl to be "perfect," but I do expect us to be "perfect" for each other, and I'm not going to try something less simply for the sake of having a "girlfriend."

True, but I'm not focused completely on it. Traditions are bad if they distract you from what's at the heart, but they can certainly be beneficial reminders. It may seem trivial, but it works as a reminder to me and, as a healthy bonus, can spur some nice conversation as it has right here.

I think some people are just more spiritually inclined than others. I guess it could be partially how their brain is wired or maybe some social influence like death of a friend or loved one. When it comes down to it God is just an idea, a name we put on something unexplainable. And god means something different to each one of us. Um yeah, I know that's probably not related to whatever you guys are discussing, but that's just my input.
