View Full Version : How Vogue in the Movement screwed me

At their show last Sunday, Vogue in the Movement sold us CDs, saying they were of Electric Valentine (their tour headliner), including a remix of new EV single Body to Body. We bought two of these CDs.
When we played the CDs, we found out the songs were all Vogue in the Movement. In other words, Vogue in the Movement is out there running around selling CDs of their music but telling people they're someone else's.
Electric Valentine is sending us CDs and bracelets, and they're been super cool about this. But they shouldn't have to make up for a shady band like Vogue in the Movement that scams fans.

That's some good marketing. The good ol' switcheroo.

Well, yes, granted. They got the sale. But it cost them fans who now hate the band and post nasty things about them on absolutepunk. ;-)

Vogue sucks. Why would you go to a show of theirs to begin with?

Yeah I'm not retarded -- I asked them specifically if it was Electric Valentine and they said it was and that the CD even had a new remix on it. It was that guy with the white guitar in that pic.

Was it a completely blank cd? As in no writing on it or case?

It was in a case but labeled Electric Valentine. I asked why it wasn't an official EV CD, they said it was because the new remix was on there that they're selling in advance of their tour for promotion.

I don't get what I'm looking at here. Are they supposed to be falling apart or something? If so, it's a nice metaphor.

It's Vogue's tour headliner, they say it was a tour promotion thing.
And yeah it's not that big of a deal, and maybe it's not worth the time to post, but you seemed to think it's worth the time to reply. :p

Eh, I'm not surprised. I used to be on this band's street team. I felt really bad for the leader, the band is pretty crappy to her and their fans and she's always having to make up for it. I think the fans actually like her more than the band, lol. But Vogue never shows up on time, never seems to want to play shows (I can't tell you how many times I've seen them committed to play a show and then don't show up/back out) and I went to in San Jose where they couldn't even get the whole band together and the lead guitarist didn't show up... I've actually heard that's a recurring problem for them. I think it's just a matter of time before these guys break up and their fans can move on to supporting a band that actually works.
THIS IS SO SOMETHING THIS BAND WOULD DO! they really are dicks like this! i was on their street team also and they were just jerks! it is honestly like they hate their fans they never wanted to hang out, they always bitch about being on tour and how people arent buying their merch or bitching because they arent signed yet...they just want to make a quick buck and not have to deal with the less appealing side of being in a band, they act like the are entitled to all these things when they don't even work for it like other bands!. So i can totally see them selling their cd under the headliner's name because the headliner is more popular and an easy way to get the money without actually doing the work of getting people to like their music!
